Television Debut

I'm making mine today.

For a local cable show to promote the Virtual Blood Drive we all did!

And Ajers just got up and is about ready to vomit. Mr. Manic doesn't know where the puke buckets are and I have to leave in two minutes for this show.

  3. Congrats!

I think it's hysterical that "puke buckets" are universal things... and how only certain containers become deemed as a them.

  11. Hey good luck. Is there anyway you can put a clip/link on your blog of your performance. We'd like to see Manic in all her "bloody" action. Wink!

  12. Blood related: hubby is going to Africa in about a month which will mean no donations for 3 YEARS! So, he will donate again before he leaves. Argh!

Oh, and he'll be gone 2 weeks and I'll be sad and he's worried about getting malaria since he'll be out in the (oil) field. Other than the obvious, that will make him ineligible forever.

  13. WOW AWESOME ON THE SHOW!!!!!!!I hope it can be u-tubed so we can see it too!

I just got this email and immediately thought of you and KNEW you needed it!

A woman and her boyfriend are out having a few drinks. While they're sitting there having a good time together, she starts talking about this really neat new drink. The more she talks about it, the more excited she gets, and starts trying to talk her boyfriend into having one.

After a while he gives in and lets her order the drink for him. The bartender brings the drink and puts the following items on the bar: A salt shaker, a shot of Baileys, and a shot of lime juice.

The boyfriend looks at the items quizzically and the woman explains.

"First you put a bit of the salt on your tongue, next you drink the shot of Baileys and hold it in your mouth, and finally you drink the lime juice."

So, the boyfriend, trying to go along and please her, goes for it.

He puts the salt on his tongue. Salty but OK. He drinks the shot of Baileys. Smooth, rich, cool, very pleasant. He thinks this is OK.

Finally he picks up the lime juice and drinks it.

In one second the sharp lime taste hits. At two seconds the Baileys curdles. At three seconds the salty, curdled taste and mucous-like consistency hits. At four seconds it feels as if he has a mouth full of nasty snot.

This triggers his gag reflex, but being manly, and not wanting to disappoint his girlfriend, he swallows the now foul tasting drink.

When he finally chokes it down he turns to his girlfriend, and says, "Jesus, what do you call that drink?"

She smiles widely at him and says, "Blow Job Revenge."

FYI we had a blood drive at work today, and I'm proudly sporting a blue bandage. I brought my tiara for a picture, but the batteries on my camera are dead. :( I'll have recreate the event tonight when I get home.

  21. How fun! I made my radio debut yesterday for Relay For Life in our county. I was a little nervous, got up early did my hair and make up........duh why waste time on that no one could see me! Oh well, it went well according to the people I know who listened but I wish I could have replayed it for myself before I go on the air again. We are doing it weekly all the way up till Relay in August. Maybe I'll get to be on TV too! I should have been the publicity Chair person instead of the overall event co-chair!

Cant wait to see your video!

  22. Way cool, Manic. Can't wait to see how it went. I have pics from blood donation most recent (where I got my swanky t!), but they're still on my camera. And I'm about to head to STL to visit the in-laws for Easter. Wish me luck. Or sanity. Or really good cold medicine.
