A PUG'S TALE by Allison Pace

Winner: Stefanie R. who loves a Chiweenie!
Please email me your address at stephanieelliot@gmail.com to claim your book!

I’ve always gotta bring a puppy page-turner into the mix for you guys, and this one is the long-awaited charming follow-up to Allison Pace’s Pug Hill!

But not to worry, if you haven’t had a chance to read Pug Hill, you’ll still be able to follow the story of Hope McNeill and Max! However, GET Pug Hill ANYWAY! It’s tells the beginning of the story – and then you can win A Pug’s Tale HERE!

There are pugs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art!
Hope McNeill has worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for years, but this is the first time she's been able to bring along her pug, Max. (Officially at least. Previously she's had to smuggle him in inside her tote bag.)

The occasion: a special "Pug Night" party in honor of a deep-pocketed donor. Max and his friends are having a ball stalking the hors d'oeuvres and getting rambunctious, and making Hope wonder if this is also the last time she gets to bring Max to the museum.

But when a prized painting goes missing, the Met needs Hope's--and Max's--help. In her quest for the culprit, Hope searches for answers with an enigmatic detective, a larger-than-life society heiress, a lady with a shih tzu in a stroller, and her arguably intuitive canine. With luck, she'll find some inspiration on her trips to Pug Hill before the investigation starts going downhill...

Here’s a great video of Allison sharing a bit about the book, her affinity for Pugs and other dogs, and how she loves to connect with her readers: ALLISON'S VIDEO

Read the first chapter here: A PUG'S TALE FIRST CHAPTER
To win A Pug’s Tale, tell me your favorite kind of pet! It does NOT have to be a dog. For me, if we had a pet, I would choose a white little bichon frise. I am such a mean mom – my kids are constantly asking for a dog but I keep saying NO. However, I bet you the moment my youngest walks out the door for college, I will be out shopping for a little guy who looks just like this:

Don't forget to enter yesterday’s book, Got Milf! I will most likely be choosing all the winners for the week over the weekend so do check back then! AS LONG AS A WINNER's NAME is NOT posted at the top of the blog post, then that means a winner has NOT yet been chosen so you can still enter to win that book but ONLY ONE TIME per book entry PLEASE!

Thanks for reading and being a part of June Blast-O-Books.

I also blog at SheKnows.com Real Moms Guide.

If you're new here, check out the rules and other stuff for the June Blast-O-Books there under that highlighted link back there, or feel free to leave me a comment always and I'll answer it in the thread, or email me at stephanieelliot@gmail.com. It is always at my discretion to change things up, and because of some regulations, I guess I must say that the books I review are given to me by either the authors or publishers or publicists, and I am never paid for my reviews, and they are my own personal reviews, and you know what, because I'm here telling you this anyway, I will also tell you that I never review a book I don't like, because you know what, why waste my time, life is too short to read a crappy book! There. There's my new mantra!

Awww, the Bichon pic is cute!! I have a friend who is partial to that breed.

MY favorite pet is the cat, particularly Tonkinese and Siamese. I guess I love pets that 'talk' to you!

My favorite pet is a chocolate lab! We got ours as a wedding present to ourselves. Nine years later he is starting to turn into a bit of an "old man", but he is still the best dog ever!!

I love cats. I have two. They're self sufficient. Litter box trained so I dont have to run home after work to walk them. They always have dry food on hand so I can even leave them alone for a couple of days. And they're still cute and cuddly!

For sure a dog! Your pet picture is adorable!

It has to be a dog. They are always so happy to see you. They lay down with you when you are sad and are just there for you. They are a lot of work but they are worth it. It is amazing how much they become a member of your family.

I was always a cat person... until my husband and I rescued our black lab. Now, I can't imagine life without a big lumbering, too much energy, barks too much dog!
He makes even the worst day a thousand times better.

I love pretty much all animals. I'd say I'm a dog person, but the 4 indoor cats and 2 outdoor (TNR ferals) would beg to differ. Apparently I was a Crazy Cat Lady in waiting. TaraUB in IN

I never had a pet growing up because my mom is allergic to everything with fur, feathers, etc. But I did have a few goldfish who met some interesting demises (demises? is that a word?) and I also had what I'd say my favorite pet was....a tadpole. I brought it home from 2nd grade because we were observing them and were able to take the extras...it was SO cool to watch it grow little legs, then arms, then have the tail fall off, so it was just a TEENY little frog...that then jumped out of the fishbowl and went who knows where in the house...I was devastated, but I think my parents were probably more upset that we couldn't locate the little guy.

I'd choose a cat. I like not having to walk them several times a day, in the rain and snow! Right now, we have one "not-my-cat", although, she will become "my" cat when my daughter moves into her own apartment shortly.

Thanks again for the giveaway! This sounds like a cute read. My favorite pet is my cat. He's a 16 year-old long haired gray kitty and he's awesome. He comes when you call him, the talks and while typing this, he's jumped up into my lap. He loves people and is just a sweet little guy.

I'm a goldfish kinda gal, but can't seem to keep any alive for long. My husband brought me home 2 kittens as a "surprise" 10 years ago thinking I'd appreciate them. I'll admit, they've grown on me over the years, but I'd still love to have a big beautiful fish tank.

Well, this one is easy. My daughter wants a pet and I always tell her no. I've had pets in my youth and they are so expensive, unpredictable and time consuming. As a single mother my rule is no pets.

Lindsay Elizabeth said...

My favorite pet is definitely a rescue dog! The two dogs I've had growing up were mutts from shelters-my mom came home one day with a pup that had fallen asleep in her lap at the shelter. Best surprise EVER!

I'd have to say my favorite pet is a dog. I grew up not having pets, but my husband insists on animals, which is fine. My one rule is that the dog is NOT allowed in the bed...ugh, dog hair! I need one area in the house that is (mostly) dog hair free. ha!

If I were to get a pet, I would want a boxer dog. We had them growing up and my brother and sister have continued the family tradition. We recently lost a dog that we had for 13 years. And our kids are all moved out. So I am enjoying the empty house and am not ready to take on a dog again. But, if I was, it would b e a boxer.

Oh MaNiC... I broke down this year after many MANY years of 4 kids begging for a dog (I really am NOT an animal person!) and we now have a Westie (also small and white)... She has brought so much joy to all my kids it's hard not to like her! So I must say she is my favorite pet!

My niece has 2 pugs - I will grab this book for her!

Thanks Again!
