FORGOTTEN by Catherine McKenzie! Two can win!

Congrats to winners:
Becki****

I'm so excited for Catherine McKenzie's newest book that is out THIS WEEK, and by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Catherine TODAY!!

Her latest book is Forgotten which takes place partly in Africa, where Catherine has never been, but the main character is a lawyer, which Catherine really is, as well as an amazing author--one of my faves!

Unfortunately, this book has been 'forgotten' by me as you all know I've been facing some things at home I'd rather forget about -- haha, nice play on words on my part here. I haven't had the chance to read at all lately, but I couldn't NOT bring this book to YOU, and I'm dying to start reading it. I've loved Catherine's other books, SPIN and ARRANGED, and I know this one, once I get started reading it, will have me glued to the seat!

Here's what Forgotten is about:

Emma Tupper is a dedicated lawyer with a bright future. But when she takes a month-long leave of absence to go on an African vacation, she ends up facing unexpected consequences. After she falls ill and spends six months trapped in a remote village thanks to a devastating earthquake, Emma returns home to discover that her friends, boyfriend, and colleagues thought she was dead—and that her life has moved on without her.

As she struggles to re-create her old life, throwing herself into solving a big case for a client and trying to reclaim her beloved apartment from the handsome photographer who assumed her lease, everyone around her thinks she should take the opportunity to change. But is she willing to sacrifice her job, her relationships, and everything else she worked so hard to build?

In Forgotten, Catherine McKenzie tweaks a classic tale of discovering who we really are when everything that brings meaning to our lives is lost.

Read more on Forgotten on Catherine's website here: INFO ON FORGOTTEN.

Thanks to Catherine and her publisher, she's offering TWO copies of Forgotten so if you'd like a shot at winning, just tell me something that you are always forgetting! And not something lame like your keys!

PS... one of the Perks of Being a Wallflower winners have not contacted me yet...melisa TMD636 where are you?

PSS... for those of you thinking of my son Luke who was diagnosed with epilepsy over the summer and has had grand mal seizures, (which is why the posting of books has been very sporadic), we are on day 23 of being seizure-free. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Life is almost getting back to normal. I hope to be getting back on track with lots more books soon!

NEW TO BOOKING WITH MANIC?

If you're new to Booking with Manic, thank you for stopping by! We love new readers! Some notes - If you're entering to win a book, please use an identifying name and it's usually a great idea to include an email, which I will never give out to anyone else. You can only enter once please. You'll need to check back here in about a week or so to see if you've won the book -- I will highlight the winner's name at the top of this post, or tell you where you can find the winner's name at the top of this post. Most books are supplied directly through publishers, publicists and the authors. Winners will receive books directly from the publisher or author within 3 weeks from the time you provide me with your address, unless I send you the book (sometimes I will). Sorry, but we can only ship to U.S. and Canada so if you're from another country, thank you for coming by to read and discover new authors, but we can't send you a book. Any questions on how I run the blog or suggestions on who you would like to see featured, please email me at stephanieelliot@gmail.com. Thank you for your support!

I don't have a specific thing I always forget, but on a daily basis I walk into a room or go to do something and forget what I was going to do!

Ok a funny one and a true one. I always forget where my keys and phone are especially on days when I am already running late. This one has gotten much better now that I am older but for quite a while, I would always forget not to drunk dial. Now I remember...most of the time. :)

  6. Please I forget everything--hence the ADHD diagnose at 28---oh now I get it :) And did you know they make this watch so you can set reminders--and one of the reminders is to pick up kids--LOL at least this is one I do not forget--I would probably show up to pick him up even when I don't have to which would make it that I forget not to pick him up.

  11. I have had to call my cell phone to be able to figure out where I left it. Lame, but that's all I can think of right now.

That's easy. My phone but always at home. I have my cell phone with me all the time and when I get home I'll usually have it in my hand but I'm doing so much, like getting the mail, changing out of my work clothes or washing my hands so I'll set it down somewhere and will lose it constantly. I may be on the bed under an shirt I just took off. I can spend a lot of time looking for my phone.

  13. Happy to read about the seizure-free span - that is good news!

I always forget breakfast and/or lunch - I don't get up early enough to eat before leaving for work so I try to bring something for each and inevitably I forget one or the other EVERY day. Unless I get it all ready at night, which, of course, I'm usually too lazy to do :o)

  14. My kids...just kidding. It's usually forgetting to take meat out to thaw for dinner.

  16. How about something I always think I'm forgetting? I always always think I forgot to close the garage door and circle back, only to realize it's actually closed. Nothing like wasting time and gas!

  18. I'm always forgetting whether or not I've asked my husband a question. I constantly have a mental to-do list and usually that includes asking him about something or other. So a lot of the time I forget whether I actually had the conversation or not. I've just learned to preface every question with, "Did I already ask you this..."

I've been gone from BWM for a few months because I had my baby. But I've been keeping up with you on FB. So sorry about Luke but I'm glad that things are starting to look up!

Either I forget my grocery list, or today thought I had it, but now can't find it. Or I forget to take the coupons, or worse, forget to give them to the cashier when I check out!
    Glad Luke is doing better.

Whatever I REALLY need at the store is usually the one thing I forget. Then after I finally remember to buy it, I forget that I did and buy it again the next three trips to the store.

So glad your son is doing better!

I'm always forgetting everything these days. When you are pregnant, you start forgetting things. I'm waiting for that memory loss to return. I have so many things going on at work and with a 7 month old, that ideas and thoughts that enter my head are quickly forgotten.

One thing I ALWAYS forget is taking something out of the freezer for dinner. It's maddening and something I don't ever think I'll remember to do. Sigh....

Anyway, yay for day 23! That is GREAT! You are half way to your goal...awesome!

Have a good one, Steph!! :)

Thanks for this awesome giveaway - I love Catherine and her books!

I tend to forget anything and everything...only to remember it just when it's too late.

Call my mom? Nope, it's already after 10pm her time.

Get home from the grocery store? Damn, I forgot to pick up this or that.

My brother's birthday is tomorrow? Guess he'll have to be happy with a phone call and a late gift. :)

I can't tell you how many times I've been at the grocery store w/a cart full of groceries, only to get up to the register and realize I have no wallet!

I forget things all the time, which is why I am an obsessive-compulsive list maker, so I never forget anythings. I have several lists in my purse at the moment. It's slightly ridiculous. If I die suddenly, and someone goes through my purse, I think he/she will think I'm Rain Man or something.
