ask your stylist first if your type hair will work with her type cut. i can't tell from your pic if it's super thick, has waves, or what. you might end up spending a lot of time straightening it if you want it to look just like hers.
but on another note, it just HAIR. it'll grow back if you hate it :)
I got the Katie Holmes hair cut last week, no the week before. I am told it makes me look younger and a fourth grader at work praised me for chosing the new do...I guess I was frumpy before the makeover. One fellow co-worker said I looked like a super model...you want to look like a super model too, don't you? So I say go for it!
i agree with the other posts: if you've got the right hair, DO IT! it's just hair - it will grow back if you don't like it. AND, i just LUUUV Katie's new do!
It's January, what else is there to do except cut your hair? I had mine cut today and had color, high lights, low lights pretty much whatever my fabulous hair dresser wanted. No biggie. Throw a hat on it if you don't like it. And yes, it does grow back!
I agree that if you have the right hair type to get the Katie Holmes. Otherwise, a shorter do is always a good idea in my book. Except for me, but that's a long story. My hair is so heavy now it hurts my neck when I put it up.
I love Katie's haircut. I say go for it! I've been thinking of a major whack job. My long, long hair is just about to my lower back these days...and I've made a bargain with the writing gods. I will chop it off for Locks of Love, IF I sell a book! I agree with color...and whoo hoo on the 9.8 pounds!!!
oh, then shave it off!! all in the name of weight loss, of course! although, katie holmes short is pretty cute...just don't make her facial expressions...she makes me want to slap her!!
Well I think your hair is similar to mine going by your photos and I had a similar cut to this before Christmas. (I had to google Katie holmes hair so I knew what you were going on about) Takes a wee bit more time to do but looks good and stays put once done if you use a straigtening spray and irons. I'm off for colour and trim tomorrow afternoon - two hours of serious ME time!!
New haircuts are always good. They make you confident, its almost as good of a feeling as giving blood cough*swishy*cough. Katie Holmes does have cute hair and its a nice change from everyone (like me) who had the Hayden Panadette layers.
I say go for it! I just did the short, short, Halle Berry or Jamie Lee Curtis, and am glad I did. I think I'm just a short hair gal.
I'm contemplating coloring to cover some gray, as the highlights aren't quite blonde enough to camoflauge anymore . . .Maybe if it snows tomorrow night . . .
I'm the type that has to contemplate a severe change in hair style for at least a couple of weeks if not a couple of months. When I finally head into the salon, I'm a nervous wreck, but I usually love the change once it's done.
I think you will look hot no matter WHAT you do!!!
ReplyDelete(And, yes, everyone, we are IMing about this very topic right now!)
Katie Holmes' length is cute. The severe horizontal bangs is sort of ok on her, but I like a good side swept bang myself.
ReplyDeleteBut I agree with swishy, you'll look great no mattah what! Go for it!!

I love the cut but I would suspect you have to have the right hair for that style.
ReplyDeleteAn enema would probably help with that .2...;)
i say 100 million percent yes.
ReplyDeleteit will be a fun change, and if you don't like it, it will always grow back!
Just think how much lighter you'd be if you shaved it all off. Something to think about.

ReplyDeleteI have no opinion on the haircut (maybe bcuz I don't know who Katie Holmes is?) -- but 9.8 pounds?! Wow! Congratulations!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 9.8 pounds!

Ooo, and do some fun with color!
Oooh, I didn't think of the weight-loss advantages of a hair cut! Maybe I'll have my appendix out too.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job on the almost 10 pounds!!! I expect to hit the 10 pound mark by March, 2015.
ReplyDeleteI think you would look great with the Katie cut but I agree with previous posts - ask you hair guy or gal - they know if your hair will work that way!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the nearly 10 pounds - that is at least a size so your clothes should be getting baggy!
Hope to join the 10-pound club soon. I've got another few weeks b4 I can exercise again.
Definitely.
ReplyDeleteRemove all jewelry and nail polish, too!
March 2015 ... ha ha ha. You and me both, Dawn!
ReplyDeleteI say go short- seize the day! Just don't go CRAZY like Katie Holmes or her whack-job husband!!
ReplyDeleteI lost two pounds this morning, so I'm thinking since we were together last night, you probably hit your 10# mark today!
ReplyDeleteThe post is up! Come check it out! :)

And congrats on the weight loss! WooHoo!
I love how you've calculated the weight loss associated with a haircut! Of course, bald would be even better weight-wise:)
