Hey everyone! I'm trying to get better at posting books because I've got a LOT to offer this spring, but I would LOVE it if you could share my blog with your bookie friends as well! Don't think of it as "If I share MaNiC's blog with my friends, that's less chances for me to win!" Think of it as GOOD KARMA and your chances to win will double! I'd love it if you could pass along my URL to your book lovin' friends in your life, at work, on Facebook, anywhere! And I promise I have so many great books coming your way ... Like this YUMMY debut ...
Who doesn’t LOVE cupcakes? Yeah, thought so, and with a book titled How to Eat a Cupcake, well, that just begs to be read, right? My only problem when I first picked up Meg Donohue’s debut novel was that it wasn’t a scratch ‘n’ sniff book! THAT would really be the ICING on the cake! Ha, I’m on a roll here, aren’t I?
Free-spirited Annie Quintana and sophisticated Julia St. Clair come from two different worlds. Yet, as the daughter of the St. Clair’s housekeeper, Annie grew up in Julia’s San Francisco mansion and they forged a bond that only two little girls oblivious to class differences could—until a life-altering betrayal destroyed their friendship.
A decade later, Annie bakes to fill the void left in her heart by her mother’s death and a painful secret jeopardizes Julia's engagement to the man she loves. A chance reunion prompts the unlikely duo to open a cupcakery, but when a mysterious saboteur opens old wounds, they must finally face the truth about their past or risk losing everything.

ReplyDelete'How to Eat a Cupcake' has mystery, humor, wit, surprises, sorrow, regret, anger and just about every emotion that you can imagine. At the first, I felt that Anna was just a little too bubbly but she grew on me and so did Julia. I was sad that the book ended.
