Taking One for the Team

I hate, I mean really, really REALLY hate baseball. So tonight, we have plans to go out to a nice dinner with friends, but all of a sudden, Mr. Manic gets four tickets to what? ... thrown into his lap for free?

Yup. Sox tickets. Free. Tonight. Baseball.

Did I mention I hate baseball?

"Do you want to go to the game?"

Do I want to go to the game? We have a boy babysitter coming over to watch the kids tonight. I would RATHER PAY THE BOY BABYSITTER all the money it would cost IF we were to go out, and send HIM with Mr. Manic and ME stay home with the three kids than go to the game.

Do I tell Mr. Manic this?

Nooooo.

"Well, honey, you know I hate baseball. I hate beer. But, it's Father's Day weekend, so if this is what you want to do tonight, we can go to the game."

"Wow, I hadn't even thought of that!" he said. "That's a nice answer!"

Great. So we are going to the game.

I suck.

Actually, if we go to the game, maybe I won't have to suck later on, knowwhatImeanVern?

Go SUXIES... I mean Soxies ... Or whatever they're called. Yippee.

And don't forget, if you or someone you know happens to be KNOCKED UP, go to the previous post and leave a comment with an email address so you can win two great Daddy books! Happy Father's Day.

You know you missed a blinder here. the idea of the invented and not traditional fathers day is for dad to spend time with kids - you could have had an evening at home all alone and sent the kids with Mr Manic!!

What were you thinking???

Hope the game did not SUCK too badly. Now, it wouldn't have sucked at all if it were the Red Sox, not the White Sox. I am sure you were EXHAUSTED from watching and had to go straight to sleep when you got home.

Ha, ha, that will teach him to take you to a ball game.

Way too funny! I actually posted just now about the baseball game I went to with my husband last night. Except I actually enjoyed it :) But hey -- at least Commiskey has really upped the food quality. Hope you got something good!

I still love you because you choose the Sox as your Chi-town team. Wondering what do about the hate baseball part. Wait, stand still, while I pelt Cracker Jack boxes at you. ;-)

LAst night Mark took Gianna to a baseball game! It was her school's night at the Bridgeport Bluefish. They had fun for an hour. Although Gianna was too nervous to go to her seat. And then a huge thunderstorm came through and they all ran to their cars.

Hope Mr. Manic got a Hoover Holiday anyway. What the heck. You know how it goes, Manic, "just put your lips together and blow." LOL! And an Appletini chaser helps too...

I REALLY hate baseball too. Thank goodness I have 2 babies as my only excuse for not having to go to one of these games and a 12 year old who is more than willing to go with his daddy.

Mmmm. Sox, sucking, peanuts and margaritas. That was on heck of a father's day

LMAO! I think its boring to watch sports on TV, but don't mind going to a game as it doesn't seem to be as long or boring:))
Have a great day!

"knowwhatimeanvern": ROFL!!!!

You're a good wife. With us, it's reversed. Jim hates baseball and I would LOVE to go to a (Cubs) game. Actually, I'd go to a Sox game too if I got free tickets. I'm not a hater.

Don't you have a son for stuff like that?

I'm a sports nut, but I love just about every sport except baseball.

I've gotta tell you, though, it is a lot more fun going to a game than it is to watch it on television. But maybe that's just because of the overpriced Italian Sausages and nachos.
