Sarah Palin ...

I don't know a donkey from an elephant ...

I hear white noise when anyone starts talking politics. I have never been interested in politics. Except for the time Monica Lewinsky wore that one Gap dress and did something crazy with a president and a cigar, this is the first time I've ever been interested in candidates and running mates and Democrats and Republicans. Seriously. I've often joked that I don't know which is an elephant or the donkey.

But, the intrigue that's in the news lately, and all the speculation that comes with it! When news of Governor Sarah Palin hit the media, the first comment I heard was from some Neanderthal man saying, "Did you see the hottie McCain picked?" As if McCain chose Bachelorette #3 on The Dating Game. Can we not be mature adults here?

Read the rest on BettyConfidential.com ...

[AND PS--NOT IN THE ARTICLE, BUT IS HER HUBBY NOT A HOTTIE TOO!!?!?!? I might start watching all these speeches on TV just for the glimpses of that gorgeous guy -- OK, who's the Neanderthal now? That'd be me!]

Oh YEAH... her hubby is 100% hot! I was really impressed by her, it's so nice to see a real person in politics for a change!! (and she is very pretty too!)

I am the voice of doom. I despair at the thought of a woman who has 5 kids, including a baby with special needs and one about to have her own, being in charge of America. I'm the first to say women should not be denied opportunities but come on, I think America deserves a little more concentration don't you? The girl's stretching herself too thin.

PS Haven't seen the husband yet....

I am just crossing my fingers that SNL can get Tina Fey to come back and do impressions of her. It is going to be awesome!

My husband's three-word reaction when I told him McCain picked a woman: "Is she hot?"

Me: Yes, and I'll probably end up respecting her for her accomplishments, but I completely disagree with all her politics. I can't imagine women will be fooled into thinking they should vote for her JUST because she's a woman.

The next day, after I read a few blogs, I changed my mind. That IS all some women care about. Now I just beg them: Vote for Palin if you agree with her politics -- but not just because she has boobs like you.

Very nice post. I agree with your opinion of her daughter's pregnancy and its relevance to the election (or lack thereof).

I have about a zillion opinions on Sarah Palin and women in this election, but I will just say one: I can promise you nobody would question whether a man was stretching himself too thin if he had five kids and was running for office. She's not a single parent! Her husband seems like a very nice, competent man. I'm sure he'll do a fine job taking care of the kids.

(Personally, I can make myself dinner every day when I'm working full-time, let alone parent five kids too. But who am I to say she can't, especially if I wouldn't apply the same logic if Obama had three more kids at home? It just seems unfair.)

I meant to say can BARELY make myself dinner every day when I'm working full-time!

(Also the case, incidentally, when I'm NOT working full-time, but that's another story.)

Good article!

Her husband is definately hot but my hot-meter is off since my husband left for Iraq. It seems I think a lot more people are looking good as each day alone goes by. Before I know it the guy working at the meat counter with blood down his apron is gonna look appealing! YUCK!

As for Sarah I'm all about voting for her and McCain. I can relate to her on so many levels. From the military child heading off to war,Oh and guess what? He's enlisted. Yep he's not an officer he's starting at the bottom, the very bottom! The special needs kiddo tells me that some changes in how our kids are handled might be in our future, and the love for Alaska with the willingness to drill to help America. I do love Alaska ya know!

Husbands can take care of the kids just like wives can. If her husband was the candidate no one would ask how he would balance fatherhood and being VP. Seriously this country is getting a little nuts!

I never liked the idea of a woman in the white house (look at where that got us) before, until I heard what Sarah Palin is all about. She has kicked ass in her state and cleaned up the government there and balanced the budget, now they have a surplus(one word we see little of these days) Imagine what she'll help McCain do with her as VP.
For the first time in a very long time I am excited to cast my vote for someone who really cares about our country and the citizens of it. All this since I heard Palin speak.
I wasn't even going to watch, but I was intrigued by her and wanted to hear more. Boy, I sure am glad I did. And it's not because she has boobs, either...
P.S. Her husband has got it goin' on!!!I may vote just to see more of him.LOL.

Here's my question:

Which will be more important to women voters: voting for the first woman Vice President or voting for a Pro-Choice Platform?

No one would say anything about her home life if she was a man because men don't deal with it. Like it or not, men and women are different. Women have less road accidents partly because we have wider peripheral vision and can see more - that's just how we evolved. As I said before I'm the first to say women should not be denied the opportunity, but I'm concerned Ms Palin, however capable she is, is going to drop the ball somewhere along the line. There are only 24 hours in the day.

Just popped back to clarify a point - all I know of Sarah Palin I learned from Kim's blog and manic so keep that in mind when reading the above comment ;)

He's hot. She's hot.

Blah blah blah...

She needs to get her house in order. Yes.

But, who knows if she is capable to help run our country.

Who knows if any of them are?

But, we do need a change and I welcome it.

colorado I'm with you on that - ANYTHING will be better than George W

Yes, I agree. Men, I must say, can be espeically immature. BTW: Mrs. McCain sure is a cutie too.
