Real Life Conversation IN THE MOMENT

I hear the kids in the basement and they are clearly running around like maniacs, getting sweaty and overheated, and I just know someone will come up crying or pissed off.

Me, at the top of the stairs:

"OK, guys, enough of that."

Ajers: "We're having fun."

Me: "I don't want you to have fun."

And AHA, as I type THIS WORD, THIS MOMENT Tukey is SCREAMING TO ME ... "MOMMY!!!!!!!!!" ... and Ajers just ran up the stairs, "Mom, Tukey hurt himself."

Screw 'em all and I told 'em so. I am NOT going to save the freaking day.

Don't you hate being right all the time? I figure that if there ain't any blood or limbs hanging at an unnatural angle, then maybe the kids will learn a lesson.

But probably not.

This should be a new feature...like when people say, "Grab the nearest book and write the 8th sentence on page 65." We should record real-life conversations at the moment. Could be dull, could be hilarious, you just never know...

OxyClean or Club soda for the blood stains on the carpet. No problem.

D'you really expect us to believe you won't save the day?? You know full well you'll be down there tending to their every need and negotiating like a UN peace keeper.

Note to Manic kids - Mum's always right. It's the way of the world.

I like Jess's idea especially since I'm stuck at work and the only books I have access to are business/leadership books.

My kids do this all the time, and I just tell them to take off their shirts and fight...when someone cries, it's over and we can go back to doing what we were doing.

Of course, I have 3 boys, so it happens constantly.

No wonder the 11 between my eyes gets deeper and deeper.

"I told you so" is my favorite saying around here. As well as "sucks to be you right now."
