Book: Project: Happily Ever After
Author: Alisa Bowman
Website: Project: Happily Ever After
Watch The Book Trailer HERE.
Mr. MaNiC and I will be married 18 years this coming May! This weekend we have slipped away for a romantic weekend – much needed time off without the kids. Funny that today’s book is Project Happily Ever After: Saving Your Marriage When the Fairytale Falters by Alisa Bowman.
I believe that part of keeping a marriage good, strong and healthy IS sneaking off for a little “what-what” if you know what I mean! So with that, here’s today’s book feature – enjoy it, while I enjoy “IT” (if you know what I mean, AND I THINK YOU ALL DO)!
Alisa Bowman was at her wit’s end. She would spend days dreaming about divorcing her husband and knew she wasn’t in a healthy marriage when she fantasized about her own husband’s death and ways to plan his funeral. In a last-ditch effort to make her marriage work, she came up with a four-month project to save her marriage. The Happily Ever After Project is that story.
Obviously this is a book geared toward married people, but it’s not a book solely for distressed married people. If you’d like a chance to win it, just leave a comment and I’ll choose a winner!
Alisa also offers great marital advice on her website: Marriage Advice.
*****
Please leave a comment, and all those who do will qualify to win Project: Happily Ever After! I’ll draw the winner in a couple of days and I will post the winner’s name at the TOP of this post, in the highlighted area.
Come back and read about each book every day in March. Choose the books you'd like to win. Enter for any or ALL the books. Each entry will count as an entry toward the grand prize of winning ALL 31+ books at the end of the month. You can win the book of the day and still qualify to win ALL the books at the end of the month!
PLEASE be specific with your name in the comment section, and IF YOUR NAME is listed as the winner, you must email me at stephanieelliot@gmail.com in order to claim your prize. Email me with your full name and address so I can have your book(s) sent to you.
Thanks, and GOOD LUCK! And come back tomorrow to see what book I’ll be giving away then too!

Marriage is tough. A little advise is never bad. TaraUB in IN
My husband and I have missed our little getaway the past couple of years for various reasons. I need to read this book to get our marriage back on track.
Thanks for the great book giveaways!
-Donna W.
Married 14 years next month! I defiantly need to read this book!!
Hope that your weekend has been awesome! :) I think that I need this book...we've been married for 26 years this July...but I'm aiming for 50+! ktmixon315
from planning funerals to happy ever after...intriguing.
Thanks for all the book giveaways and reviews. I have a whole list of books to read now. Not married (yet) but I would love good advise before I get married.
Coincidentally I am in the midst of a getaway weekend with my amazing husband as well. Boo to daylight savings though. :(
This book isn't quite up my alley, but I've been known to choose a book based soley on the cover art. The cute frog and crown probably would've won me over sitting all fairytale-like on a shelf somewhere! LOL
Time together....that is a rare occurrence. I really want this book!
sounds like an interesting book and a 180 degree change for the author...I would like to see how she turned things around!
married for 21 years, sadly I have felt that way once or twice, will read this book either way....
We'll be able to have week long vacations sans children next fall when my baby goes to college.
I'm not married...but would still love to read this.
Jana B
Sounds interesting! Having had some VeRY rough spots, I am interested to know how others get back on the right track....
Hmmm...not sure what the Big Man will think if he sees this on my nightstand...but maybe it will lead to more date nights?? hmmm....
I love the frog and the crown!
marriage advice is always good. congrats on 18 years!
qweska8402
Oooohhhh, looks good!
Thanks Manic.

I'm not married (yet), but still think this would be a good book to read.
We just had a weekend getaway too. We try to do it before each baby is born.

It's always cool to find a good marriage advice book.
-Bee H.
Congratuations on 18 years - we're on 2.5 years here (7.5 yrs together) and we love the occasional weekend getaway. Our last one was a couple of months ago. We always come back feeling like our marriage is stronger :)
Another great book in this contest. I'm going on my 11th year of marriage and love my man, but 11 years is work! Good work, though.
I've been married for 6 years. Any advice to make it last is great! Lauren Royall
I'm approaching my 8 year anniversary. Looks like a great book to have on hand! Melissa Rem
Hope you had a great weekened. Would love to read this . .been happily married for 30 years but there HAVE BEEN MOMENTS, lol. Never planned his funeral but planned giving away all his stuff!!! LOLOLOL

Hope you're enjoying the what-what! :)

18 years is quite impressive! Hope IT was a great weekend away!
Pick me. I wanna win this book!
- Amanda Leigh
congratulations on 18 years! my mom and dad just left for a cruise she bought him for Christmas; they'll be celebrating 24 years in may as well! she asked me to comment so she wouldn't miss her chances at missing some great books and i think she'd agree with getting away from everything to do "it" ;)
Croppergirl
Lord the trailer had me crying!! Don't know what I'd do reading the book!! :)
Even though I'm not married still seems like an interesting read!
RebeccaE
congrats! going on 11 years myself. :)
This sounds like one for all married couples. Enjoy your getaway!
I am envious of your weekend away. We could use one of those. Although, we are sending the kidlets to sleep at their grandparents' house tonight. Too bad hubby and I both have the flu! Ronit W
Like the idea of this - but being divorced not sure if it is something I would normally pick up
fanficfan44
Congrats!!

I'm a newly wed so we're still in wedded bliss but a good book is a good book.
Carly Haynes
Looking forward to checking this book out.. So enjoying your list of books, liking the variety. Keep it up, Manic.
Amanda
maybe i'll learn something.
dani patarazzi
We'll celebrate 10 years this June... I would be interested to read her advice!
Only on my 7th year and weekends away are always fun!
Getting married in May...this could be a good one to help us off on the right foot. Jenni(fur) N.
After a getaway with the girls last night, I'm too tired to put anything other than pick me, pick me!
Terri M. in Phoenix
20 years for us this Summer. The book sounds great!
Just had our 18th!... Not quite as eventful as yours!... Sounds like another FAB read!
Thanks MaNiC!
Christine
Ok, so after being really ticked off at my husband for not getting up this morning to help get the kids and himself ready for church AND after going without him to show him (idiot me), perhaps this book would be better than the terse one-word answers I've been giving him this afternoon.
My husband and I will celebrate our 11 year anniversary on the 17th, yes we were married on St. Patrick's day! I too agree that the secret is to have those weekend getaways and occasional date nights sans our little one! It helps us to reconnect and have "adult" time! He is my best friend and I love him more now than I did the day we met! Granted, we have had our ups and downs! I would love to read this book!
Buttah
hope you both had a great getaway!
I'm not married, but it still sounds like and interesting read.
Can always use advice when it comes to marriage!
Cheryl B in MN
sounds like you had a great time on weekend getaway (via FB)!
michelle jagow
i'm not married, but i think this book would give interesting insight into married life. i'd like a weekend getaway too...
I would love to win this book. I'm not married but it sounds interesting. =]
I say that we've had 10 good years and 3 so so. :)
Not married, but I'm still interested.
I've already started reading some of the books you've listed here & I am loving them..especially whats up down there. I thought it would just be a question & answer book but it is so much more than that.
Congratulations! I'd love to read this one! CariLynn
Enjoy your weekend! Haven't we all thought about killing our husbands occasionally?
Kristi Marie W.
I'm not married... but I am addicted to books! I'll read anything and everything :)
NicoleMG from CT
We need a getaway like that! We just had our 16th...Congrats to you and the hubs!! Nanette N.
May will be my 3 year anniversary, and I'm still very happy. But advice is always good to have.
Marriage--who ever knew how tough it really is
My soldier is home for his 2 weeks of R&R from Afghanistan I wish we could get away from the kids for a couple days too but I would never take away time with them right now when they need it so much too. BUT let me tell you that when he comes home for good next fall I'm all over that.....if you know what I mean!! haha
Congratulations!
Since I'm done being married, this will be a nice *gift* for someone!
Have fun celebrating!
tmd636
Wow 18 years? That's great. I am working on my 4th. Would love some advice!
Congrats on 18 years. My husband and I just celebrated our 4th anniversary last month!
Enjoy your getaway! We just took a week. We've been together almost 13 years.
I definitely want to read this book. It is getting ordered if I don't win it.
Congratulations and glad you had fun!
This book could be good for any couples in a rut, married or not. Thanks!
This sounds like a great book.
Awww...enjoy your weekend and happy anniversary to you and Mr. M! Thanks again for the great books!
kathygold9778
Ha ha ~ I've NEVER thought about divorcing my husband. Nope. Sure.
Kirsten R.
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. My parents just celebrated 39 years this past week. And you are SO right about the key to a successful marriage is getting time away from the kids. Enjoy :)
Congratulations. Hope you had a lovely get away with Mr. Manic.
Oh I love love love this idea. And how fun for you to have a great weekend away. And a book trailer? I LOVE that. Hmmm should talk to Melisa about a book trailer....
Oh boy...just the title of this book really speaks to me right now. With 4 kids, 2 jobs, and crazy schedules, my husband and I are so busy and tired that we've been neglecting our relationship. We could use some guidance toward our "happily ever after!" Thanks MM!
Congrats on 18 years! Your weekend trip sounds like fun.
This sounds like a book my marriage desperately needs, so even if I don't win I will be picking it up. Thank you! Congrats on your long marriage!
JillMitch
Congrats on 18 years! We are at 15 this year, and I can hardly believe it. Hope you had fun!
~MommyMer
always good to read some helpful advice...17 happy years here
My husband and I try to get away every now and then, but with a new baby on the way, that may be on halt for awhile.
Who couldn't use some marital advice from time to time? Marriage is hard and I don't know anyone who never needs help.
Just watched the trailer. My marriage isn't "abysmal", or anything close, but would love advice on how to not let it ever get there. We should all be mindful of our love and nurture it.
When is your anniversary in May?? We will be 18 yrs on May 22! Congrats! Instead of a quiet getaway though, we are having a big party at our house (just happened to be our anniv weekend!)
I'm not married...yet. but will be soon! =)
hope you enjoyed IT! ;)
Crystal717
I love being married. I wouldn't have it any other way. Debydew110
who doesn't love aget a way
I'm planning a getaway now...maybe I'll get inspiration with this book!
Fingers Crossed!
xx (fingers crossed)

I've always imagined living alone - on the road in an RV, in a mountain cabin, on a deserted tropic island - just me, my cat, and all the books I had room for. Robin Crusoe! I guess 'independently wealthy' would have to figure into my plan somewhere, although I first imagined being a freelance software developer; I'd love to be an author but I lack the confidence (I'd starve!); painter (same starvation path there too I'm afraid).
My husband and I have been married for 4 years... we are expecting our second, I guess we still find ways to sneak off for some fun. ;)
Krystal Dyer
This is the second book you've posted with a frog on the cover.
Hmmm...
I checked out Alisa's blog and she gives some interesting ideas for helping your marriage (or in my case, relationship since I am not married). The post on "How to Teach Your Man to Romance You" is a must read.
Lisa P
Been married going on 21 years...but can always use a little advice!
Well I'm not married...yet, but I know a few married folks in this same predicament currently. I'd love to pass on this win...after I read it of course. LOL
I'm not married, but it sounds like a good read.
We will have 10 years this fall, and I am envious of your getaway. I think every couple needs that!
Congrats on your anniversary!
Every marriage has it's rough patches - and the way each couple handles them is different. A little insight into some new ways can only help make things better after 14 years.
I've never been married but I know a few couples who could read this.
18 years is a long time! That's great! Enjoy your holiday together.
Sounds like a great read!
I met my "Happily Ever After" in July and we eloped in November...I know it isn't 18 years yet (or even 18 months for that matter), but it's the best decision I ever made! Maybe this book will help keep it that way:)
Currently single but was in a very bad 10 year relationship so I do find interest in a book that can help my next relationship. Brenda L B
This sounds good, we're approaching our 6 month anniversary.
K Loeser
Look like a great book for us married folks. :) it will be 16 years this july of me. :)
Corey W
I just got engaged. I need all the marriage advice I can get. Thanks Dawn Geske
We celebrate our 25th anniversary soon. Can't believe it.
Lucky you! Inspiring me to schedule a getaway with my hubby!!!
Nicole Harper
Sounds cute! I love the frog on the cover :)
Congrats on 18 years!
congrats on 18 years together!
doesn't everyone deserve a happily ever after?
My favorite marital advice that I have recieved (been married for 3 years) is "You can be married or you can be right." Hope your weekend was fun!
Kristi H
I've been married 18 years as well :) I'm really interested in what Alisa has to offer 'cause there is always room for improvement :)
