FORGOTTEN by Catherine McKenzie! Two can win!

Congrats to winners:
Becki****

I'm so excited for Catherine McKenzie's newest book that is out THIS WEEK, and by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Catherine TODAY!!

Her latest book is Forgotten which takes place partly in Africa, where Catherine has never been, but the main character is a lawyer, which Catherine really is, as well as an amazing author--one of my faves!

Unfortunately, this book has been 'forgotten' by me as you all know I've been facing some things at home I'd rather forget about -- haha, nice play on words on my part here. I haven't had the chance to read at all lately, but I couldn't NOT bring this book to YOU, and I'm dying to start reading it. I've loved Catherine's other books, SPIN and ARRANGED, and I know this one, once I get started reading it, will have me glued to the seat!

Here's what Forgotten is about:

Emma Tupper is a dedicated lawyer with a bright future. But when she takes a month-long leave of absence to go on an African vacation, she ends up facing unexpected consequences. After she falls ill and spends six months trapped in a remote village thanks to a devastating earthquake, Emma returns home to discover that her friends, boyfriend, and colleagues thought she was dead—and that her life has moved on without her.

As she struggles to re-create her old life, throwing herself into solving a big case for a client and trying to reclaim her beloved apartment from the handsome photographer who assumed her lease, everyone around her thinks she should take the opportunity to change. But is she willing to sacrifice her job, her relationships, and everything else she worked so hard to build?

In Forgotten, Catherine McKenzie tweaks a classic tale of discovering who we really are when everything that brings meaning to our lives is lost.

Read more on Forgotten on Catherine's website here: INFO ON FORGOTTEN.

Thanks to Catherine and her publisher, she's offering TWO copies of Forgotten so if you'd like a shot at winning, just tell me something that you are always forgetting! And not something lame like your keys!

PS... one of the Perks of Being a Wallflower winners have not contacted me yet...melisa TMD636 where are you?

PSS... for those of you thinking of my son Luke who was diagnosed with epilepsy over the summer and has had grand mal seizures, (which is why the posting of books has been very sporadic), we are on day 23 of being seizure-free. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Life is almost getting back to normal. I hope to be getting back on track with lots more books soon!

NEW TO BOOKING WITH MANIC?

If you're new to Booking with Manic, thank you for stopping by! We love new readers! Some notes - If you're entering to win a book, please use an identifying name and it's usually a great idea to include an email, which I will never give out to anyone else. You can only enter once please. You'll need to check back here in about a week or so to see if you've won the book -- I will highlight the winner's name at the top of this post, or tell you where you can find the winner's name at the top of this post. Most books are supplied directly through publishers, publicists and the authors. Winners will receive books directly from the publisher or author within 3 weeks from the time you provide me with your address, unless I send you the book (sometimes I will). Sorry, but we can only ship to U.S. and Canada so if you're from another country, thank you for coming by to read and discover new authors, but we can't send you a book. Any questions on how I run the blog or suggestions on who you would like to see featured, please email me at stephanieelliot@gmail.com. Thank you for your support!

SPIN (Again!) by Catherine McKenzie

Congrats to:
Emily116
Please email full name and address to stephanieelliot@gmail.com so I can send you SPIN!

I’ve had Catherine McKenzie on MaNiC MoMMy numerous times previously, and have given away SPIN before, but this one is a killer book, I just love her writing and this book is NOW finally YAY, horray, out in the US! It was first published in Catherine’s home of Canada, but we who live in the lower 50 (is that what we say down here?) can now get it! I’m so enthralled with Catherine’s fast-paced and witty writing, and you will be too, if you’re not already a fan. She’s written Spin, Arranged, and another that will be debuting later this summer. I’ll be sharing all of them with you here on MaNiC. She’s truly a fabulous writer. Heck, everyone I feature is great, or else I wouldn’t be telling you about them, but I really, really adore Catherine’s writing. AND, she seems as warm and personable on FB and in emails as she does on the pages of her books!

SPIN: Katie is the typical party girl and goes out to celebrate her 30th birthday, which also happens to be on the eve of a very important job interview for the music mag, THE LINE. When she arrives at the job interview still drunk from the night before, it’s no surprise she doesn’t get the job. What does surprise her is they ask her to go into rehab to follow IT girl Amber Shepherd, write the tell-all expose, and then they’ll give her the job she actually wants. What Katie never expected when she goes into rehab to get the goods on Amber, was that maybe she did need rehab after all, and that maybe she might just actually become friends with Amber. What she does when she gets out of rehab will surprise everyone, even Katie.

I loved SPIN because it was a little like peeking into the life of Lindsay Lohan in rehab, and the ways that Katie matures during her rehab stint shows that it’s possible for even the most skeptical to gain a little insight in rehab. And yes, there’s also a little love connection going on in rehab too, so you won’t want to miss out on SPIN!

Learn more about Catherine and her books here:

If you’d like to win SPIN leave a comment telling me who your guilty pleasure celebs are to stalk? I always love to hear what’s going on in their lives, but really hate when a couple I think are going to make it file for divorce! NO one makes it in Hollywood! Which celebs do you love to read about? Tell me and you could win SPIN!

Don't FORGET to enter to win the previous book, Julia's Child, and also come back later in the week for Val Frankel's Four of a Kind!

Remember, MaNiC MoMMy is aiming to feature great books each and every week this year, and you’ll have a chance to win it as well! Please stop by often AND MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE PREVIOUS POSTS as I’m now posting new books more than once a week! Open to US/Canada residents only, and thanks to all the participating authors and publicists for providing the books.

Check back on this post in a few days to see if you’ve been chosen, and as long as there is not a highlighted winner’s name on the top of the blog post, you may enter to win any of the previous books being offered. One entry per person as always! Please include an email address or a uniquely identifying user name when entering to win!

SPIN & ARRANGED by Catherine McKenzie

Winner Announced:
Kassie H!
Congrats - you have won Spin and Arranged! Please email me your full name and address at stephanieelliot@gmail.com and I'll get you your copies of these two great books! Coming up later this week -- the GRAND PRIZE DRAWING, my BIRTHDAY, and my 1,000 post on MaNiC MoMMy! WOW!

Is this de ja vu???

Still a chance to win the very two books offered in March!

Hey everyone! So I really, really wanted to get all of the winners picked tonight but it takes about a half hour to do one winner and I didn't have the time to do them all, but if you check out Laura Dave's post and Laura Munson's post, those winners have been announced.

Also, there are a few of you who have not let me know your addresses, so please let me know who you are so I can get your books to you! Still waiting on the winner of Jen Lancaster's book!

Today, since no one claimed our very first books by Catherine McKenzie, I'm going to offer them up again. SPIN and ARRANGED are two awesome books. You can go back and read the review, but come back HERE to comment. EVEN IF YOU COMMENTED PREVIOUSLY, come HERE to comment in order to qualify for these books. The previous post will not count as your entry. You will need to comment on THIS POST if you want to win these books now. Sorry you have to do it again, but this is the easiest way for me to track the entries, and also it will give anyone new a chance to win these fabulous books.

And for this entry, let's do something completely random, tell me something that either looks good or smells good, but tastes completely disgusting. Or vice versa -- something that tastes awesome, but looks horrible. I have no idea where I come up with this stuff, and this has nothing at all to do with the books. I just wanna know your thoughts!

Happy Friday, and we'll get through announcing these last few books and then to the big prize in the next week or so!

Thanks for your patience, and thanks to everyone who went over to check out Real Moms Guide--that was way cool of you!

GOOD MORNING!

I seriously don't know what I'm gonna do if I don't say hi to you all each morning now!

Hi! Good morning! No book today... : (

Here's where we're at. Yesterday I had a migraine, and I think I'm blaming it on the fact that the day before, I took myself out on a date, and only had a frap and a salted caramel all day to eat. You can read about it over at my other blog. Oh yeah, did I ever tell you I blog daily somewhere else? Hahah. In my spare time. Anyway, I'm at SheKnows.com Real Moms Guide every single day. Twice on Mondays. I would LOVE it (and YOU, even MORE) if you could sneak over there sometimes and leave a little comment love. More important, my editors would love it cuz then they'd see people reading it.

So, back to the migraine. It prevented me from MOVING all day yesterday. In bed the whole day. I'm sure it was the combo caffeine (I before E except after C doesn't quite work with the word caffeine now does it?) and chocolate, the long walk, and then funky weather here in Scottsdale today (it actually RAINED ... for like 3-1/2 minutes, but with thunder AND lightning!).

I did have random.org choose three more book winners so go check out Falling Apart in One Piece, Stay and Attachments to see if you're the lucky winners. I will pick the rest of the winners this week, and then I do believe you have all decided to have TWO WINNERS for the books. I wish I could offer two full sets, but I don't have that to offer.

All of the authors have been soooo generous already with giving their books away, and so many of them offered more than just one book in the first place, so we'll just take what we can get! When we have two winners picked via Random.org, I will work with those two winners - maybe either by having them submit a list of their top 10 books to see if any of them are similiar, or let the first winner pick 5, then the second pick five, etc.

The way the drawing will go is as follows: Each day, I have taken all the comments and listed your names into an excel document. So I have 35 columns of names (one column per book). I will choose through random.org one name from each column, so if your name is in each column every day, your name could be chosen every single day. More than likely, I will share those 35 names with you all on the blog.

Does all this sound clear to you because I'm trying to understand it in my head! : )

Either way, I will be doing the grand prize drawing via a youtube video.

Some winners have not contacted me about their books, so please go back and check to see if your name is listed on the following:

Dawn Meehan: You'll Lose The Baby Weight
Michelle Toth: Annie Begins
Allison Winn Scotch: The One That I Want

No one has come forward for the very first books, Catherine McKenzie's Spin and Arranged, and that was so long ago, so I will probably do a post on Thursday offering it up again. Also, if I don't hear from the winners of the other three books by the end of this week, I will be making a decision on these as well, but for sure Spin and Arranged will be available again Thursday, and they are FABULOUS books. Check out what they are about HERE, but DO NOT COMMENT AGAIN. You'll have another chance tomorrow!

Okay, so that should catch you up to date on some things. I hope you all have a terrific Thursday and I have truly, truly LOVED learning about all of you and as I go through all your comments, there are weird things that go through my head that I want to ask ALL of you, seriously! I should just do a blog post where I ask YOU all a bunch of questions, like how you come up with your names on here, why you chose some of your crushes, what you mean when you say some of the things you say. I have enjoyed this waaay more than you can even imagine and I wish I could give every single one of you guys books!

PeaCe uP!

xoxoxo MaNiC MoMMy

Oh, and PS... I have more in store for you all! Since I dumped BlogHer, I can do other stuff on my blog I couldn't before so I might be able to do more fun giveaways, but I'm not gonna pimp it out to a bunch of advertisers or anything crazy. I would most likely wanna know what you guys would want to come here for. I also think I will be able to do a mini-April book giveaway, with about 5-7 books. It's not 40, but it's something!

Back to bye-bye! Over and out! xoxo

Today we kick off MaNiC MoMMy’s March Madness Book-A-Day Giveaway and I’m pleased to be sharing Catherine McKenzie’s books with you! Not only is Catherine an AMAZING writer, she is a passionate book lover and is always sharing news of other authors with readers. She began the AUTHOR/READER EFFECT on FaceBook where authors and readers band together to bring attention to deserving books. Catherine is ALWAYS giving away incredible books over there.

The two books that Catherine is giving away here on will blow you away. I’ve read them both and they are so great.

Here’s my review on ARRANGED, previously posted on MaNiC MoMMy:
Anne Blythe has just broken up with another one of her boyfriends and finds a business card in the street promoting what she thinks is a dating company called, ironically, Blythe & Company. Because of the similarity of the company’s name and her last name, she keeps the card and eventually calls this ‘dating’ company only to discover they really arrange marriages. Tired of picking the wrong men, and after deep contemplation, she agrees to be matched for marriage. Soon, Anne is on her way to Mexico to meet, Jack, the man who’s the perfect match for her, sight unseen.

Based solely on personality scores and psychology testing, Anne and Jack meet, and what unfolds from here will have you turning pages so quickly you’ll want to get to the end, yet you’ll also want to prolong your reading enjoyment. Jack and Anne’s relationship from their very first meeting is so real, so sparked with tenderness and that first sexual tension that you’ll have a difficult time putting ARRANGED down.

McKenzie writes fluid dialogue and beautiful descriptions; you’ll wonder if there’s really a Blythe & Company in existence already, and if there’s not, why isn’t there? What a concept! And Jack and Anne’s relationship – it’s one of those kinds that you’ll be rooting for them, crying for them, turning the pages in anxious waiting wondering with oh-my-gosh moments, what could happen next!
And SPIN:

Katie is the typical party girl and goes out to celebrate her 30th birthday, which also happens to be on the eve of a very important job interview for the music mag, THE LINE.

I loved SPIN because it was a little like peeking into the life of a starlet like Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears in rehab, and the ways that Katie matures during her rehab stint shows that it’s possible for even the most skeptical to gain a little insight in rehab. And yes, there’s also a little love connection going on in rehab too, so you won’t want to miss out on SPIN!

So, here’s how this is going to work. Please leave a comment, and all those who do will qualify to win BOTH books, SPIN and ARRANGED by Catherine McKenzie! I’ll draw the winner on March 3 (always TWO days after I post the daily book, unless it’s a weekend, I may allow for more time), and I will post the winner’s name at the TOP of this post, in the highlighted area. PLEASE be specific with your name in the comment section, and IF YOUR NAME is listed as the winner, you must email me at stephanieelliot@gmail.com in order to claim your prize. Email me with your full name and address so I can have your book(s) sent to you.

Thanks, and GOOD LUCK! And you may come back tomorrow to see what book I’ll be giving away then too!
