Relay for Life!!!!

My friend Michelle created It's 4 The Kids and is an amazing person, artist, personal friend to me. I would go so far as to call her a humanitarian too, if I knew what that word actually meant. But yes, she is all good and works daily to serve a higher purpose in her life. Her ideas for combatting pediatric cancer are amazing and she's constantly working to make a difference.

She would like your help, and if you could spare something as small as the change in your purse, you too can help make a difference.

The National Cancer Institute reports that "Between infancy and age 15, cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among US children." While there is tremendous amount of fundraising going on at any given time for cancer research, it was esitmated in 2007 that approximately 10,400 new cases (NEW cases ... this number does not include the tens of thousands STILL fighting) of pediatric cancer would be diagnosed.

So, what can you do?

Even if it is only $1 that you can spare ... that dollar could be the straw that breaks CANCER'S BACK! Now, wouldn't that be an amazing thing to be a part of?

Follow this link and support a fellow Mommy blogger in her RELAY FOR LIFE June 20-21.

There is a child somewhere out there hoping you DO!

Morning Manic!
I'm so excited for Michelle at SoS, and right now with me not working is a bit difficult to donate anything, but I am still making hats and other assorted goodies for sale with proceeds going to pedi cancer research thru her its4thekids site:))

I think everyone should Relay! Even if they don't join a team they should still go out to their local Relay For Life and like you said every dollar counts!

Great post!

Hey I was just thinking about your post and the whole "every dollar counts" thing.

When we did our Wal-Mart Relay For Life fundraiser in April I also had a mobile blood drive set up at the time.

When people said "I'm sorry I don't have any cash". I would say "oh that's okay we're also taking blood" and send them over to the blood mobile.

If your readers can't afford to donate money they can give away a pint of blood. Cancer kiddo's need blood transfusions too. And since our bodies make it for free there's nothing to lose!

My best friend's mom passed away from cancer a few years ago, and my friend & her sibs were active in Relay for Life...a great cause. Thanks for writing about it!!

(In answer to your question on my blog: research, baby, research! :) Also, I saw a post about it on breakupgirl.net, and was so fascinated by the answers I wanted to continue the conversation...)

I just participated in this last weekend. It was VERY moving.
I'm doing the Komen Breast Cancer Walk this Saturday.
I've watched too many people die from Cancer....I feel the need to donate my time and any donations I can contribute to battle this wicked disease.
