See if you've won this book:
Clementine Pritchard is a world-renowned artist who has given herself just one month to live. The book starts at Day 30 as she begins to get the end of her life in order, from finding a home for her Persian cat, Chuckles, to painting one last work of art, making up with her ex-husband and executing the plans for her suicide. She also has some unfinished family business and wants some unanswered questions answered about her father, who left when she was young.
Can she get everything answered in time before she pulls her own plug?
I really love the format of this book because it’s like it’s starting at the end of her life, but does she end her life? And it's a fast-paced read that'll have you zipping through the book to get to the end to find out the big question -- does she or doesn't she?
Executing a suicide plan has never been this much fun.
You can read the first chapter here.
If you'd like to enter to win Losing Clementine I'm going to ask a really bizarre question. In the book, Clementine decides to go to Tijuana to get horse tranquilizers for her suicide. (Sidenote: At the end of the book, Ashley Ream tells of her real trip to Tijuana to research exactly if it would be possible to purchase illegal substances such as horse tranquilizers over the border -- a very cool addition to the book!)... So, what I would want to know, what do you think would be the easiest form of suicide? I think it would be in the car in the garage.

I agree car in the garage. I knew a guy in high school who killed himself this way actually.

Thats a tough one, lots of sleeping pills, just sleep.
I agree with the above poster. Sleeping pills!
I really enjoyed reading The Cell Phone lot and I can't wait to read a full length novel :) I am proud of you for quitting your agent because only you know what's best for you. You're a fantastic writer. I've been creeping on your blog for a few years now :)
Sleeping pills, going to sleep and not waking up.
Qweska8402
I agree that it would probably be pills.
Margie T
I agree with the car way too, but quite a few people die that way...inadvertently.
But then again, I do do well with the cold, so many sleeping pill overdosage would work better for me...so I can die while dreaming I'm a secret agent or something.
I'll be sure to leave a signed suicide note just in case they suspect my family of murder.
Lilian
Car in the garage! (Sleeping pills, too, but I'm not very good at taking pills, so I would probably not take enough and just end up messing myself up and not actually killing myself!)
In regards to your prior post, only YOU know if something is right for you! If it didn't feel right, then you made the right decision! Stay positive!! :). I'm a newer follower, but enjoy your posts!!!
I think car.
Melissa Rem
I also think the car would be the easiest way.
Terri M.
Sleeping pills definitely... there's something about going to sleep and just not waking up that sounds peaceful.
Here's a well-known suicide fact: women are less likely to kill themselves in a grotesque fashion (i.e. gun shot, hanging, etc) because they worry about the mess that it leaves behind. It definitely makes sense!

Sleeping pills
Nicole
Gah...I guess in the car.
I think sleeping pills would be the easiest form of suicide.

I would have to go with the overdose, as well.
taking a massive amount of some drug.
I usually love answering your questions, but I'm so sorry I just can't bring myself to answering this one. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but I can't. I have a very good friend who lost her mom (who went to school with my aunt) to suicide when we were 14/15 and this just isn't something that I'd like/want to give an opinion on.
I'm not trying to be difficult either, sorry if it's coming off that way. Just my own personal views.
I still love you MaNiC!!

It would be an overdose of sleeping pills. So I would get really sleepy and pass out before my heart would give out.
My sister and I have a pact...if one of us is ever at a point where we're beyond medical help, get pushed out on a raft in the ocean with a big bottle of tequila. Bon Voyage!

I think taking pills would be the easiest way. But either way would always be hard. I don't think I could make that decision.
Thanks!

This is quite heavy for 8 in the morning, but I think pills would be the easiest. Yeeps, this book gives me the chills-can't wait to read it!

Sleeping pills, I think. Seems the most peaceful.
Denise F.
This book looks wonderful!
I'm thinking sleeping pills or the car in the garage!
I agree with Crystal, I love your blog, manic, but as someone that has a handful of friends and family members that have tried and/or succeeded in committing suicide, I'd rather not answer.
Love the book reviews!
yikes! disturbing question. i'll pass on this one.
I'm not sure. My uncle and grandmother both shot themselves but that seems way too hard. Another uncle attempted an overdose so that might not work so well. Idk hope you are ok!
Pills - definitely.
I read this post and was disturbed by your question. Then I read the addendum and feel somewhat better. I would like to say that I do not feel comfortable answering your question but would still like to be entered in your giveaway.
I have close family members and in-laws that have struggled with depression for many years and I just don't even want to think about suicide. Not that I have my head in the sand about the possibility, it is a fear that is a part of my life all the time. I just don't think that there is any 'good' way to kill yourself.
Thanks for your great giveaways! You always feature awesome books and I love reading your blog!
Book please!
I can't really say how would be best but I can tell how would be worst. I dread the thought of drowning. I'd hate to go that way.
Carly H
I am not comfortable with answering the question but would still like to be entered!
I think pills...
-tmd636
i do not feel comfortable answering but would still like to be entered! :)
I guess sleeping pills. Thanks for the great giveaway
not sure, but I know it's something I really dont's want to think about. So, I'm passing on this question.
Bev V. (shaggy@gmail.com)
I can't even think about it ... but I wouldn't mind reading the book!
If I ever did, I'd take a lot of sleeping pills and other pills. I never will, though..i can't imagine my husband finding me :(
Creepy, but pills!
Is it weird that I didn't find the question odd? Is it weird that I know exactly what I would do if I was diagnosed with something terminal? And only if I'd exhausted all treatment.
And totally off topic, I hate the words to prove I'm not a robot. I can read them half the time.
i would imagine sleeping pills washed down with alcohol or a car in a garage.
Emily116
Ditto - pills or car.
Well, I think washing down some pills with some vodka would do the trick. Makes me shiver just thinking bout it, but I'm not gonna lie and say the thought hasn't crossed my mind at one time or another in my life! I've had kids. Duh! Postpartum depression with both. And...both of my kids have special needs. So life has not been easy. But thankfully, I worked through it with the support of a lot of awesome people, and I'm in an amazing frame of mind today!!
kewalker1972@gmail.com
I guess I'm either weird or haven't had the horror of first hand experience but I didn't find the question disturbing at all. I guess because now that I have kids there is no scenario I can imagine actually following through with suicide & I assumed Manic felt the same as well. Anyway, I'd pick the garage too.
I can't answer this question, but I would love to read the book.
I would prefer not to answer, but would love to be entered.
:)
Car in the garage.
I'm not going to answer this one, but it sounds like a great book.
i am too weak for any
I guess sleeping pills would be the most painless way.
I actually know the easiest way (if you mean highest chance of success) but good taste dictates I not post it here.
However, I think the most pleasant way would be a combination of overindulgence (good food, good drink), combined with a happy old age. :-)

No comment on the question but I would like to enter. Thanks!

I have to concur with the most of the responses...sleeping pills sound the least painful.
Dawn
I think I'd just run away and never look being in the medical field the pills aren't as good or as fullproof as one might imagine - can make for a very un-peaceful way to out
I would think that lots of pills and booze would be the easiest way out too!
Garage - definitely the garage.
I don't know...just thinking about suicide bums me out. I have such a heavy sadness for those who feel so hopeless and alone.
Hmmm, interesting question. Car in the garage for painlessness. But I can't imagine just sitting there waiting, so maybe alcohol in the car in the garage. LeslieGC
I can't answer that question. But I would like to win the book.
I'm also going with the carbon monoxide from the car. Just go to sleep.
A good friend of mine killed himself in high school by the car in the garage. My best friend's mother did that as well. I guess that or sleeping pills with a bottle of booze?
Pass on the question but I want to win the book.

Just wanted to let you know that I am almost finished reading this book and I love it. I don't find it depressing at all, and I don't know if she is going to actually go thru with the suicide or not (have about 30 pages to go), but it seems to me when she stopped trying to solve herself with the psychiatrist prescribed medications and just accepted who she was and lived a little, she seemed a little happier. I know she still went thru her bouts of depression, but she enjoyed who she was more. Anyway, I have really enjoyed the book and will recommend to many people. If it was my month to choose, I'd select if for my bookclub!
