Here’s a book that’s perfect for all the women in
your life – your sister, your mother, your sister-in-law, yourself! The Arrivals hits upon the very touchy subject of what happens when family comes to
visit and never leaves!
When Ginny and William’s three grown children (and
their families) arrive home for different reasons and end up staying, the once
empty-nesters truly realize the saying “once a parent, always a parent,” is a
phrase that you must live by no matter the age of your children.
Back-of-the-book blurb:
It's early
summer when Ginny and William's peaceful life in Burlington, Vermont,
comes to an abrupt halt. First, their daughter Lillian arrives, two
children in tow, to escape her crumbling marriage. Next, their son Stephen and
his pregnant wife Jane show up for a weekend visit, which extends
indefinitely. When their youngest daughter Rachel appears, fleeing
her difficult life in New York, Ginny and William find themselves consumed
again by the chaos of parenthood—only this time around, their children are
facing adult problems. By summer's end, the family gains new ideas of
loyalty and responsibility, exposing the challenges of surviving the modern
family.
If you’d like to win The Arrivals, please leave a
comment about the relative you’d most like to visit if you had to stay with
someone for longer than a week! I’d probably choose my sister-in-law Jessica
because she is an amazing cook, and also because she is about to have a newborn
baby girl and I could take care of the baby and snuggle with her the whole
time!
And next week, I will also be featuring Meg's brand-new book, SO FAR AWAY, so make sure to be here for that one too!

I'd love to stay with my mom's cousin who lives in Florida with her husband. Preferably in the winter :)
It's a toss-up! My mom always takes fantastic care of me when I visit but I would also love to stay with my very favourite brother and sister in law as well!!! Since they live about 10 minutes away from each other, maybe I could visit them both, LOL.

I would choose my bestest friend/adopted sister Laurie. It was amazing how our 2 families meshed and became one. We spent so much time together and had such great times. I would love to be able to spend time like that with her again and catch up on all the years since. Love you Laurie!
Can I choose none? sorry I'm in a horrible mood and it's only 7:50am :(
I guess I'd choose my Aunt in Florida.

Only my mom and dad...
I have the luxury of getting along with me entire family and also getting to see them pretty often. The one I dont get to see is my Nana. I would love to have her visit for as long as she wanted to!

But already there was my sister, her husband, her 2 kids (1 full time & 1 gone every other weekend) & his daughter (every other weekend), my brother & his youngest daughter every other week as well as his older daughter every other weekend, plus 2 dogs & 3 fish.

Right at this moment, I can't really say that I'd like to stay with any of my family...I see them all quite often, and love them, but really wouldn't want to stay with any of them for an exteded period of time! HAHA!!
Definitely my cousin in Buffalo - in fact, I have stayed with her for over a week when I was there for work, and it was great. We worked well as roommates!
Emily116
It would have to be my Mom.... she's the least crazy of the family... or my boyfriends mom but I guess she's not ACTUALLY family... yet?? :)
Would like to stay with my BFF cousin in Iowa . . .
I'd most likely want to stay with my Uncle Bill on my dad's side. He's really fun and I know he would give me space if I needed it!
Thanks!!

My sister - she lives so far away I feel like I never get to see her!
I'd stay with my cousin's ex-wife. I hope that counts, because I like her a lot more than the no good cousin who cheated on her.

Brannanflooring@aol.com
My cousin, April because being with her is always like being home:)
But... I don't want to stay with any of my family....! IF, I had to pick someone it would be my cousin. Her daughter is my goddaughter and I could spoil her rotten for a bit.
sadly, I would stay with a friend, or maybe my daughter in her dorm..

I am going to have to get this for my mother! My brother and his family have been living with my parents for the last two months while they buy a house in the area. This might hit a little close to home! If I had to visit family for more than a week, ironically, it would be my brother and his wife (and my sweet nephew). I just truly enjoy their company and it seems like every minute spent with them is filled with laughter!
Colbey J
I fould probably stay with my daughter at her home.
oh this is hard. I love my family but a week at this stage might be wayyyy too much. if I had to pick?? I guess my sister because she is fabulous to my girls!
my grandma, for sure. I've already moved back in with my parents once, and then lived with my sister. No, thank you.
That is a no-brainer. I would move back to my childhood home and stay with my mom. I see her so rarely and I love being in my hometown.
~Nan
My Aunt Betty! She lives in Texas and I haven't seen her in quite some time - we would find so much to do down there!!
My older sister, since she just moved out...I miss talking to her (but I don't miss having to share the bathroom with her).
My mother-in-law. We get along, what can I say :)
My in-laws! They are awesome and we miss them terribly since they moved out of state 2 years ago!
With my grandmam she is the best!
I'd stay with my BIL in Denver, because it would be a great change of pace from Ohio and he is the least annoying of the relatives.
That would be my sister. My daughter is 11 but my sister has a 5 year old and 2 year old so it's nice to play with them at that age.
My uncle up at their gorgeous lake cabin!
My aunt Jodi..she is too much fun. And we get a long great. We are always on the same page.
My dad's cousin who lives on the water in Virginia. She's a southern bell to a T!
It would have to be my twin sister. We like the same things, how can you go wrong?
My Aunt Tita...she was the coolest Aunt, she lives in Denver. Our days would be filled with lots of red wine & thrift shopping.
My in-laws. My mother in law sticks up for me, they have a blast with the kids, and we could get a sitter for a day so the adults could go canoeing!
Definitely my Tia P. FI and I love her and Tio D and are always trying to come up with reasons to go visit them!
crystal717
Probably my daughter, but I really don't want to stay with any of my relatives for more than a week!
Bev V (shaggy552@gmail.com)
Hmmm, my parents when they're in Florida during the winter, but only if they're off visiting someone else for that week. ;)
Ugh - none of them! Although I do have an uncle who lives in Hawaii, so I suppose I would chose him.
erinaaron616 at bex dot net
I would stay with my favorite Aunt. She's a ton of fun and lives in the mountains with some pretty great views, which is a bonus!
My cousins because they're like sisters to me.
I guess I'd stay with my sister-in-law down in Texas since we haven't seen her and her kids for years :)
I'd love to stay w/my grandma for a week-she lives 4 hours away and I only see her once a year. :(
I would go stay with my sisters for the week!

I think I'd like to stay with my cousin in Orlando. I haven't seen her in over 25 years, but we have reconnected through Facebook and it'd be a great experience to hang out...plus, she lives right on the beach!
Terri M.
Definitely my sister. We'd have a ton of fun and probably wouldn't kill each other :)
I would love to stay with my cousin Tamara. I stayed with her family when I was 11 and I would love to reconnect with her.
Probably my mom because she wouldn't make me do any cooking or cleaning!
If it was winter it would be my brother in Naples FL
My great-aunt Theresa who's a nun in Canada!
I would stay with my folks. Nothing better then pampering and home cooking. Plus I love the company of my parents.
I'd stay with my aunt & uncle at their lake house. So much fun!
