DOGPHORIA by Jim Dratfield and THE BEST OF TODAY'S DOGG by Guy Gilchrist

Congratulations
Eloisepeaches aka Megan!
Please email me your full name and address at stephanieelliot@gmail.com so I can send you your books!

Dogphoria by Jim Dratfield

The Best of Today's Dogg by Guy Gilchrist

Okay, we're taking it down a notch and bringing some puppy love your way with these two adorable books for you to win. Yes, this is a TWO-FER for you!

First up is The Best of Today's Dogg where all sales benefit animal rescue and adoption. It's a charming colorful book with cartoons of all things dogs.

Next is Dogphoria by Jim Dratfield, which is a 100-paged, hard back book of gorgeous black and white photos. Whimsical dogs are paired up with unique quotes to match the pictures. Actress Laura Dern has said of photographer Jim Dratfield's work: "Jim is a master at capturing the soul of a dog in a photograph."

These books are perfect for the dog lover and make great coffee-table books, birthday or holiday gifts!

You can enter to win both books here by telling me what you think is the most unique animal in the world and what you would name that animal -- haha, you thought I was gonna ask a DOG question didn't you?

I'm going to say I love flamingos, because I DO, and I would name my Flamingo Florence. PS--DO NOT name your animal like Dorothy the Dog or Henry the Hamster just because I went with Florence the Flamingo... get more creative than I did! hahah.

Check previous book features to see who the winner is -- that's how you'll find out if you've won or not, and you can still enter if there's not a winner's name posted on the top and highlighted! I usually choose a winner for each book anywhere from 3-7 days after I post a feature!

Thanks for checking out the Fall Fab Giveaway – we’ve got more books coming your way through October. I'll be featuring 2-3 each week. At the end of ALL the individual books featured and given away, one or two lucky winners will win the WHOLE batch of the books.

If you’ve got particular questions on how the Giveaway works, check the ORIGINAL POST HERE, or feel free to email me! Thanks!

Good luck everyone! And I really enjoy your comments too!

Thanks for reading and being a part of this promotion! To find out all the details on how to participate throughout the whole promotion click the previous link!

I also blog at Real Moms Guide if you'd like to read some of my other work.

If you're new here, check out the rules and all the books at in the promotion HERE.

If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment and I'll answer it in the thread, or email me at stephanieelliot@gmail.com. It is always at my discretion to change things up, and because of some regulations, I guess I must say that the books I review are given to me by either the authors or publishers or publicists, and I am never paid for my reviews, and they are my own personal reviews, and you know what, because I'm here telling you this anyway, I will also tell you that I never review a book I don't like, because you know what, why waste my time, life is too short to read a crappy book! There.

Can you please just add me to the overall win list? I'd rather let someone who loves dogs try to win this one :)

Manatees, they are so graceful, but very strange looking. I'd name her Beatrix, after Beatrix Potter, because I think Miss Potter would have written a lovely book about manatees, if she had ever had the chance to meet one.

I have a cat named Topanga. I wanted a kitty to name her that and I did. When I was little, my brother wanted a dog and call it god, cause it was dog backwards. Mom said no..

A lyre bird has such amazing tail feathers. I would name a pet after a composer. (not totally original but I like it) Such Bartok or Gershwin.

I saw my first albino alligator not too long ago, he was pretty creepy looking. I'd probably name him something generic like "spiker" or "killer".

I'd have to say a peacock. I jsut find them so beautiful. If I had a pet peacock, I'd name it Esmeralda, after the character in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame."

This is such a hard question...how about people are the most unique animal in the world because each person is so different. If I have a daughter, I will name her Anna Austin.

Anonymous said...

This may not fit the question, but I am a DOG fanatic and the book is about dogs and dog is GOD spelled backwards and I LOVE MY Shih Tzu SASSY SOO much, so I have to say SASSY is the most unique animal even though I'm not answering your question corrently... Thanks Manic! cindyinmiami writeoncindy@yahoo.com

My unique animal - there is an albino squirrel in my neighborhood that I have named Gene, because I think it's hilarious.

I've always been partial to penguins. I think they are adorable! I'm not sure what I would name mine though...maybe Spot because that's the last thing anyone would think to name a penguin? :)

I love my two rescue dogs. They are the best,so soulful. But I also love chimps. I would name a chimp Keith if it was male or Julia if it was female.

I am a huge Dog fan, and I have a little mutt named Pancake (Master P is his "masculine" nickname). But I think Elephants are awesome, and if I had one I'd name her Petunia.

PS My dog, Bailey, will forever be my favorite animal ever!

I'd like to own a Meerkat because they crack me up at the zoo. I'd probably own a few because they're social. Their names would be Tuesday, Thunder, and Thompson because why not?

A potbelly pig would be fun. I'd name it some character from Anne of Green Gables, but not Anne, I've already named a cat Anne.

I think Koalas are unique because they are bears but they are not really bears. I think Qually would be a good name for a Koala.

Dolly said...

A ferret, named Frank (Burns - 'ferret face' from M*A*S*H)

Melissa said...

I always loved Koala Bears. I would probably name one, Love because they look so lovable, although I think they can be pretty mean. Melissa Rem

A capybara. They're just so unique looking. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capybara
I'd name it Hortense.

I love ostriches! I think they are the most ridiculous looking creatures around. I've never given it much thought as to what I'd name my potential pet ostrich (mostly b/c when I saw one in person they are actually really scary and have two sets of eyelids so I've eliminated them as pet potential) by I'm going to go with Olive Oyl.

Crystal said...

I've always had an eye for apes/monkeys. I would like a chimp and name him George (yes, as in Curious); I still have a stuffed George from when I was a baby. Please note: George is not a monkey; he has no tail therefore he is an ape. (I totally did a report on Chimps in elementary school and I think I remember that chimps are 99% like humans; they are the only ones with opposable thumbs).

But then again I saw the movie, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and it just made me sad when they tried to domesticate the chimp *tear*

I'm a dog lover, and I think they are all very unique. They have their own personality, and always love you unconditionally. We gave our Boxers unique names...Fabulous White Gloved Tyson, who I miss dearly and was my "first child", and Magikal Razzle Dazzle, Razz for short.

LynnBelo said...

I'm gonna go with the red panda...because it looks like someone put on a cartoon fox costume! It's silly. I doubt they make good pets, but imagine they do and I'd name it Darjeeling. :)

I've always liked Koala bears they look so cuddly even though I know they aren't. My five year old would name her flower and that's how it works when you have kids they name it and you go with it!

I'm not sure it is incredibly unique, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE giraffes. No idea why, but I just do...I've always wanted a miniature one for a pet. FYI, they do not exist, despite the weird/random website where these Russian people claim to be breeding them. It is fake.

Anyway, I'd probably name my giraffe Anthony. I have absolutely no idea why.

Inspired by my trip to MGM Grand this past week I would have to go with lions and I would name a lion Gertrude because I think that is a good name for a lion.

Since I'm like 5 posts behind, I'm running out of creative answers to your questions. I think penguins are unique...I mean, they're a bird, but they can't fly. What's up with that? As for a name, let's go with Cadvibri. (That's my word verification below.)

However, when you said this was a two-fer, my first thought was it should be a two-FUR since it's two dog books. Ok, now I'm getting loopy. :-)

Syd the Cicada - my husband actually caught one once and tied a string around it and let our kids fly it like a kite. Kind of cruel, I suppose, but the kids loved it.
