Pinch Me

By Adena Halpern

When author Laura Dave tells you she has a friend who’s written a book and you should really check it out, well then, heck yeah, you’re gonna check it out. So this next book comes highly recommended from one of my favorite authors. I haven’t had a chance to read the whole thing yet, but from what I’ve read so far, it’s a fun quick fairy-tale read and I’m hoping for a happy ending!

PINCH ME by Adena Halpern

From the first chapter, atop of the Eiffel Tower, you’re taken to the most perfect place in the world for an engagement, with the most perfect guy … but … a family curse gets in the way of their happiness…

LILY MARRIED THE MAN OF HER DREAMS.THEN SHE WOKE UP.“Never marry a man unless he’s short, bald, fat, stupid, and treats you badly.” That is the advice that twenty-nine-year-old Lily Burns has heard her entire life from her grandmother Dolly and her mother, Selma. Despite this, when she meets Gogo, the handsome, successful pediatrician who treats her like a queen, she has no choice but to let her heart take over. When she agrees to marry him, Dolly and Selma are inconsolable. They decide it’s time to tell her the truth: their family is cursed. If she marries for love, there will be unimaginable consequences.

Nevertheless, Lily and Gogo elope. Unable to believe her good fortune, Lily asks Gogo to pinch her—to make sure all this isn’t just a dream. The moment he does, Lily finds herself transported back to the house she lived in when she was single. Gogo is gone. When Lily tracks him down, she finds that he’s married to someone else and has no memory of her. In this modern fairy tale, Lily must find a way to break the curse and turn her nightmare back into a dream come true.

Adena Halpern is also the author of Target Underwear and a Vera Wang Gown (how AWESOME is THAT title?), The Ten Best Days of My Life, and 29 (Gosh, I wish I was 29 again!). You can learn more about Adena and her other books at her website here.

To win Pinch Me, tell me YOUR favorite fairy tale or something YOU dream of having happen someday. Obviously, I dream of having my OWN books published one day.

It is always at my discretion to change things up, and because of some regulations, I guess I must say that the books I review are given to me by either the authors or publishers or publicists, and I am never paid for my reviews, and they are my own personal reviews, and you know what, because I'm here telling you this anyway, I will also tell you that I never review a book I don't like, because you know what, why waste my time, life is too short to read a crappy book! There.
