Manic......

What do you think of this whole Anna Nicole and Britney Spears thing?

Thanks,

Angelena

OMG! I didn't think this was going to be so HARD!!!

Well, I have not been following it too much, just check out the quick internet blurbs and the insides of Us and People mag.

I think Anna Nicole is going to be charted in history as the next Marilyn Monroe.

I think Britney Spears has completely gone off the edge and has royally screwed up her life and her career. She started out the year great, by ditching K-Fed and she looked great when she showed up at David Letterman's after the birth of Jaden, but then when the whole sans-underwear-hang-out-with-Paris-Shave-Your-Head-and-get-new-Tattoos Britney appeared, well, she probably lost a ton of fans, even the young ones whose mothers will probably not let them buy her future (if she has any) music.

And Danielynne--she's going to be one rich but screwed up little girl, who I feel really sorry for.

Whew. I really didn't think this was going to be hard, but it's fun!

Thanks for asking the question Angelena, and BTW, every time I see your name, I think, "Wow, that's a pretty name!"

Actually, I remember with respect, love and awe when John Fitzgerald Kennedy was shot ...and DIED! All this other crap is not even worth anything. Instead of watching this on t.v., reading the "rags" and newspapers---how about spending some valuable time with your family!!! 1-4-3 you-know-who

OK, folks, the anonymous is MY MOTHER!

ok Mom, you're SERIOUSLY KIDDING ME about ME not spending valuable time with MY FAMILY!?!?

Seriously.

OK, speaking with my mom right now and I have to retract my previous comment. She was not intending to tell me to spend more time with my family. She meant the things that were important in life are not about stars in the mags who contribute nothing to the world, but the presidents, etc. who suffer for the country.

So, there's no mother-daughter fight.

Which birth was the hardest for you and why?

MaNiC MoMMy™ said...

Alani--HI! BTW, your answer to the contest was one of the runner-ups to the runner-ups. I love that story about the OJ.

Anyway, the births--well, Tukey's was BY FAR the easiest. After he popped out, all 9 pounds of him, I was like, "I could totally do that again!"

Ajers was difficult in terms of recovery because I labored with him, dilated to 10, then his big ole head was lopsided so apparently he couldn't get through, so they cut me open for a C-section, even though looking back, I think my doctor just felt like doing a C-section. Jerk.

Diva, the hardest, by far, but probably the most rewarding. Since Ajers was a C, I really wanted to have a vaginal delivery. When we started pushing, they even had me on my hands and knees (very demoralizing, that is for sure) to try to move her down. I pushed for almost 2 hours, got scared I would have to have another C. Long story, long, all 9 lbs, 4 ounces of her came out. I remember the next day though, and what hurt the MOST was my arms from trying to pull myself up in order to use what I had to push her out. She is still my most challenging child! ; )

Oooo! This is fun and you're so brave!!! How many questions do we each get?? LOL

If you could take a one month vacation to anywhere in the world and money was no object, where would you go and what would you do there?

Anonymous said...

Ok, this should be an easy one.
What's your recipe for the perfect appletini?

MaNiC MoMMy™ said...

Jenster--
Vacation--It wouldn't really matter to me the actual location but as long as there was a swim-up bar, a beach where I could take hour+ long walks every day, the ocean...

That would be an amazing dream for me--to go to some exotic tropical place with sun, beaches, pools, palm trees, fun drinks, and some hammocks. I would go back to Cabo in a heartbeat and stay there for as long as I could. I would go to Cayman again... Fiji - never been but I am a beach vacationer.

Now you have me craving the sun and the beach!

Patricia--

Easy one! And I will be having one or two tonight.

Equal parts Grey Goose and Sour Apple Pucker, with tiny bits of ice still floating on the top from the shaker.

Add a slice of granny smith or a cherry at the bottom... yum!

Why don't we take flu shots, Manic??

divorcedandsassy said...

Manic....

Thank you for the name compliment. Dad wanted Angie and mom wanted Lena... and low and behold they got Angelena :) Interesting I suppose.. *** I love that story :)

And "Holla" on the Britney and Anna things.... I guess I'm miffed that people keep comparing the stories as if they have any similarities --- haha.

And you are so right.... Anna Nicole = new Marilyn Monroe. So true. Only difference is that poor sweet little girl. So sad ---

The britney thing... I think this whole thing has shed a new light on K-Fed. He's steppin up as a dad. Taking charge when he needs to... ( the emergency hearing and visiting Britney in rehab ) Love that.... new respect for the "dawg" -- yo.

Anywhoooo, I read the celebrity mags because it is, my make believe life. The one I escape to while my 3 kids are tearing the house up limb from limb..... taking over one poopie diaper at a time.... while mommy reads up on Britneys shaved head and Who's your daddy?

What book is currently on your nightstand?

Anon asked: Why don't we take flu shots, Manic??

Do you mean, take, as in why don't we steal flu shots, cuz I do, every chance I get! ; ).

Actually, Manic and her family DO get flu shots, ever since they became suddenly available again. I'm all for sticking myself with a needle full of dead sick viruses. Why the heck not! Ewww, gross now that I think about it. And really, I guess flu shots are stupid cuz they don't protect you from every flu strain out there!

Angelena--totally agree that K-Fed may be the new dad hero, and that maybe Brit's been a whack all the time. And I'm all for reading the mags and stuff as a means for an escape from the mundaneness of motherhood every now and then! Not that I don't love it, but who doesn't like to read about people worse off!??!

Ty--Impulse by Ellen Hopkins, who also wrote Crank and Burned. It's YA and written in prose/verse and she's an awesome writer!

Also The Big Love by Sarah Dunn-I haven't read it yet and just bought it on the $6 and under table.

Taming the Beast by Emily Maguire, which started out really, really good, but then left me with the "WTF" feeling inside when I finished it.

Stillife with Husband. Looks good.

The Waiting Womb, by Julie Sayre, which is a self-pubbed book a friend gave to me figuring I would love the subject matter.

Good thing you only asked me what was ON my nightstand, and you didn't ask me what was on the floor next to my nightstand!

what is the nicest thing a person or family member has ever done for you??

And what is the nicest thing you have ever done for someone? And why did you decide to do it??

MaNiC MoMMy™ said...

Oh come on RR, you KNOW the answer to this one...

When someone sent me Tim Tams all the way from across the world!

As for the nicest thing I've ever done for someone... I do nice things every day, nothing extravagant, but I would have to say just smiling and making small talk with the laundry guy, the grocer, the bank teller, a stranger... those are some nice things I do.

Ok, I have another question because I'm bored and cruising blogs all night.

Which would you rather have-a good night of sex or a good night of sleep?

Kari Lee Townsend said...

I have one. Why haven't you come to visit me yet? Are you going to nationals for sure? Why haven't you gone before? Is Swishy going?

Okay, so it was more than one. I couldn't resist. I HAVE to party with the manic at least once in my life!!!

MaNiC MoMMy™ said...

Ty... Duh. You totally know the answer to that one.

20 years ago, sex.
Today, sleep.

Kari asked: Why haven't you come to visit me yet? Are you going to nationals for sure? Why haven't you gone before? Is Swishy going?

Do you mean virtually, or physically? You haven't invited me! : )

The Nationals thing--I'm dying to go, it's a scheduling thing at this point. Need a sitter. (And a book deal, would be a plus!)

Why haven't I gone before--I just joined RWA last year and I guess since I didn't have an agent, I didn't go. I don't know! Maybe I hadn't been taking the writing thing as seriously as I should have been doing.

And as for Swishy--I HOPE, HOPE, HOPE she goes if I decide to go because I doubt I will go without her!

what's your favorite color?

have you ever been to New Orleans?

if so, what was your favorite thing about it?

If not, what would you want to see/do most?

MaNiC MoMMy™ said...

Andie--I like to wear red and hot pink, or soft pink. I like to look at yellow and green.

Never been to N.O.

Don't know what I would do there. Probably drink.

Please read The Waiting Womb by Jill Sayre, I am her so-called publisist AKA husband. She too hit many road blocks attempting to get published, thus self publising was the way to go. The website is: www.thewaitingwomb.net
Thanks for letting me post this!
