No Needle Contest Winners!

Through a drawing in which I randomly assigned everyone who entered the contest a number, and then I IMed my BBFF Swishy and told her to tell me the first number that popped into her head, we have our NO NEEDLE CONTEST WINNERS! (So, if it's not you, don't blame me, or Jenny Gardiner, or Eileen Cook ... It's all Swishy's fault cuz she didn't pick you!)

Before we get to whom she did pick (is that the proper grammar? Cuz, while I might not be proficient in politics, I am big on grammar, even though I just spelled 'because' cuz, you know) I conferenced with Eileen and Jenny and they were kind enough to offer the winners a duo-prize package, so each winner will be receiving BOTH BOOKS, signed by the authors. Is that not so very cool and generous or what?

Congratulations to Jess over at
Lily Potter Knits

Congratulations also to Bina at
Just Another Day

We have discovered that Bina was so overly enthusiastic that she already went out to purchase the books and was unable to locate Unpredictable (which angers all of us, no doubt -- so if you're at your bookstore, and they don't have it, CALL FOR THE MANAGER, YELL, SCREAM, ORDER IT BY THE DOZENS!!!)

But Bina did find Sleeping with Ward Cleaver AND HAS ALREADY READ IT AND LOVED IT! Here's what Bina said about her search and find for these two hot, hot, hot books:

"I read 'Sleeping with Ward Cleaver' and LOVED it! I read the first five chapters at work that day, and finished it the next. Borders and Books A Million didn't have Unpredictable so I have to order it, but I want it NOW!"

Boo Borders! Boo Books A Million!

But guess what Bina, YOU DON'T HAVE TO ORDER IT BECAUSE it's coming your way! And so is Sleeping with Ward, both signed by the authors! How cool is that! You'll just have to keep the authentic, TOUCHED BY THE AUTHOR novels, and share your already-read-and-drooled upon Sleeping book with all of your friends. Now that's what I call a Pay-It-Forward!

And to top off this prize--like signed copies of these books aren't enough, I will toss in a gift card--either a Starbucks or Cold Stone Creamery (your choice), so Bina and Jess, congratulations! Please drop me an email at so I can get your information from you. I'll need to find out how you want your books to be signed, and if you want coffee or ice cream!

If you didn't win, I'm really sorry, but I promise you'll have more opportunities for fun contests like this on Manic Mommy, cuz come on, wasn't this a fun one? In the meantime, you can order Eileen's AND Jenny's books over at Amazon. Just click the links below to get all the info you can ever want on these two great authors and their books:

Eileen Cook

Sleeping with Ward Cleaver
Jenny Gardiner

Check both authors out, and their co-classy author Debs over at The Debutante Ball for more great upcoming debut novels!

And don't forget, there's still a great Manic Contest going on ... the first annual Blood Donation Contest is still in full swing through Valentine’s Day! So, roll up those sleeves (really, you just have to roll up one, grab a pack of Lorna Doone's or Oreo's and settle in for some life-saving relaxation and your chance to win a sizable cash prize too!

Hey Manic,
Whatever the next contest you sponsor on your blog I would like to donate the top prize. A custom designed piece of jewelry from my new "Charming Line". Stop on over to my blog for a look-see...Heather

By the way, I've never actually used the words look-see before, you should feel priveleged. Hee hee.

Hi Manic,
Well I did it! Today I gave blood... for the VERY FIRST TIME... 'cause I'm absolutely terrified of needles - you have no idea.

I posted the picture on my blog

*sigh of relief*

I'm so glad that's over with. I've been hearing your voice quietly prompting me to do it for ages now. So that's one more thing I can cross off my list of "Things that I want/need to do in life". :)

Oh, and I forgot to add...

Congratulations to the book winners, and thanks for sponsoring these contests, Steph. It's really nice of you to do this.

So this blood thing is going to be annual? GREAT! I'll get to enter next time - if the Bear hasn't beaten me to a pulp AGAIN that is...child protection? Where's the Parent protection??

Yay Jess and Bina! Congratulations! And Bina--thank you so much for getting Sleeping with Ward Cleaver and I'm THRILLED that you loved it! Feel free to spread the word about it. FYI, anyone doing book clubs, I am happy to do call-ins if you pick Sleeping with Ward Cleaver for your book--just email me at my website to set it up!
Thanks again, Steph, for setting up this great contest--it's been fun e-meeting your Manic Mommy homies! And thanks, homies, for checking out our books!

Holy Crap! I won? I really won something? I never win anything! I'm so freaking excited and I'm going to have not one, but TWO books signed by the actual authors!!!!!! YEA!

I would like to thank both authors for writing these books, the publishers, my kindergaten and 1st grade teachers for showing me the gift of reading a great book, other than (See Dick Run), and especially MaNic MoMMy for holding such a wonderful contest! Without, I never would have won!!!!!! But I won! I really WON!!!!!!

Congrats to the winners of the books. Thats cool especially cause you get to go read your book at the ice cream or coffee shop therefore more people will see the books.

I'm still eating cookies from yesterday's blood donation - just to be on the safe side, you know?

Karen said...

Congrats to the winners!

Jenny Gardiner said...

Kim, you sure you're not eating mint M&Ms???
LOL Bina re: your acceptance speech! Definitely a good plan, BTW, to read at the coffee shop, holding the book UP HIGH so everyone can see ;-) . I was on a plane last week and I did that and I had all of these ladies near me asking about it. Darn, wished I'd had a box to sell with me!

Manic, did you get my emails?

MaNiC MoMMy™ said...

BINA! I got 'em, and replied twice! Something's screwy with email!!! I'll try to resend. However, you've since been withdrawn from the contest...
