Bang-Bang & BlogHer '09

I got my hair cut and got the bangs I talked about in the previous post that no one wanted me to get.

When Diva got off the bus, she screamed at me, horrified, telling me I looked ugly and how could I do that when I promised her that I wouldn't get bangs! "I hate them! I hate them! I hate them!" She yelled and then stomped ahead of me toward home.

What a warm and heartfelt welcome.

The boys kinda looked at me and said, "You look different." I think one of them said, "I don't like your hair."

Mr. Manic came home. And didn't say anything. Then he started calling me "Bangy." "Hey there, Mrs. Bangy."

I "thought" I liked them.

What do I know.

In OTHER non-hair-related, but Blog-related news, I am SOOOO going to BlogHer '09 because, yes, my friends, it's in CHICAGO!!

And more good news, my hair will have grown out by then!

And maybe I'll find a new family who will love me not only for my hairstyle by then too!

I'm thinking "before" and "after" pics are in order. Also, don't cook dinner until they all say they like your hair.

What, you aren't going to share what they look like with us? I'm crushed!

And I'm so booking a hotel downtown to stay there... although I was sorta looking forward to getting AWAY from away from my family if you know what I mean! :)

Well, I don't think I'll be posting pics anytime soon. Not when I go up to bed last night and Mr. Manic is calling me Mary Tyler Moore and then I'm like, "You mean Marlo Thomas?" and then he's like, "Oooooooh ROB!" and I'm like, "Looks like we need twin beds buddy!" LOL!

I think they're getting used to it, it's not THAT drastic!

I'll be at BlogHer too. As long as my new job doesn't have other plans. I can't wait! I had such a good time this year!

Also, I'm growing my hair out for Locks of Love, so my hair will be LONG by then!

Well yay, I think I'm going to get to go too! And, I just got a haircut I'm not crazy about, so hopefully we'll both have great hair by then.

Hi. I've been reading your blog since Dawn gave the link. Great, I might add!

Let me tell, new hairstyles make all children flip out. It doesn't matter if their yours or not. When I was teaching, I once cut my hair short after it had shoulder length for most of the school year. The kids walked into the classroom and sharted shouting, "We have a sub, we have a sub!" They were so focused on the hair that they forgot to look at my face. Duh! Once they realized that it was me, they flipped out for a few days. Honestly! They told me they didn't like the haircut....blah, blah, blah. I felt like I let them down! Things eventually returned back to normal. It's amazing what kids react to. I could have been dressed as a dinosaur, and they wouldn't of cared... but when you mess with the hair, you mess with the soul!

I'm hoping to go to Blogher. But I am also in a wedding in vegas in july... so it really depends on my finances! But I am really really hoping to go!

I need a potential roommate, though. LOL

I am excited at the prospect of meeting you, melisa, swish? and the rest of the gals!
