Halloween

Happy Halloween!

I'm still sick! This ear infection is NOT clearing up. I am half-deaf currently, which is not a good thing to be.

Yesterday, Emacy and her hubby were throwing a Halloween party and so we were all going to dress up.

We had planned on going out to lunch and I said, "Let's just dress up now and stay dressed for the whole day!" Because when do we get the chance to dress up for Halloween? Well, OK, once a year, but still. And we had to dress up that night, so we did. I dressed as Manic Mommy. She was a vampire. I kept calling her Contessa. I don't know why. I said she needed to drink a Bloody Mary at lunch. She didn't though.

But, dressed up, we got more male attention than we ever do not dressed up. There's something to be said for wigs.

And this guy, in his heavy accent, came up to me and asked, "Could I take a picture with you?" So he got out his phone and snapped a pic, but then I had to take a picture of us too!

Then I thought it would be fun to go to the cemetary to take some pictures because I had heard it was a place people were DYING to go to!

So we did.

But as soon as we got there, Emacy and I felt a little like it was a wrong thing to do, cuz there were all these dead people there. But THEN immediately I see the HUGE mausoleum with HER EX-HUSBAND'S name on it! I begged her to pose in front of it, but she wouldn't. Drat.

We decided to pose where there were no dead people's names.

Then we went to the school for the kid parade, which is really lame cuz the school doesn't even let the kids wear makeup or wear their whole costume to school. They have to dress later in the day. And what a pain is that. I'm sure the teachers love it too. And Emacy and I were the only moms dressed up. We thought we were cool moms to do that, but later Diva told me I was embarrassing. Looks like I'm following the Mom Rule Guide properly.

Here are more pics. I'm too sick and too tired to tell you about the casket but I'm lying in it.

These days I'm feeling like I might need to be in one full-time.

Oh, one last question -- favorite/best Halloween goody you or your kids got? I was so annoyed NOT ONE OF MY KIDS landed a popcorn ball OR a Pay Day. They did not get uber-loot this year. But that's probably a good thing.

Poo to your kids school and the lack of decked out Halloween. Pop in on my blog, we tricked the office at the school I work at (stayed the night before till 830pm painting and papering) as an old time spook house. I was a delightful vampiress. Only one kindergarten girl told me I was "freaking her out" and to go away. Our whole staff goes costume. It is tradition and the kids can't wait to see what we turn the office into.

And we had a casket in the office to boot. No one was brave enough to climb in. We should have!

Best candy - FULL SIZE candy bars (that's SoCal for you!).

Best treat: My son, who turns two today, mastering saying "Trick or treat" by the third house. Candy bribes work!

Worst part: My increasingly sore throat, fever, and aches. I think I have finally caught what my son had last week. I am just glad he is better for his bday party tonight, but it sucks to be me right now!

Hope your ear infection gets better soon. Nothing worse than an ear infection!

Sounds like a couple of you are getting sick too! Hang in there!

And we get the full size bars here too. Love it when the kiddies ask, "Can I have another piece of candy?" and they grab a humongo candy bar as their 'piece.'

Looks like you had a blast!! There were only 2 of us dressed in costumes at my sons school yesterday too.

I have the same (and was wearing for a little while) necklace as Emacy.

HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEENN!!!!

I hope you feel better soon!

Jari--thanks! Wanted to see pics of you but YOU DON'T HAVE A BLOG!!! You should start one! : )

Oh bummer! Have you gone to the doctor yet? Those things can get nasty if they hang on too long. And you don't want to be like Little Miss and have blood coming out your ear (at least not that Halloween's now past).

Oh, and Friday I'll bring you a popcorn ball. The wee ones got one from one of their teachers; I forget whose it is, but they'll never miss it. No Paydays though.

Our best treat this year? Ummm. The single whole Hershey Bar? OH! I forgot -- my neighbor who grills hot dogs and hands them out. Best ever? The THREE Skor bars a reclusive neighbor used to hand out when I was a kid :)

Your pictures are so cool! Except for the foot picture - because I think I'd go nuts in stockings like that!

I hope you feel better soon!

Michelle--MY EAR BLED A WEEK AGO SATURDAY AND I'M STILL HAVE PROBS! it's like my left side is filled with cotton or play doh or both! I am going to go back to the doc tomorrow. IT SUCKS!

And the stockings--my toes WEREN'T supposed to pop through but I did that to make it easier!

one cul-de-sac in our hood blasts Thriller music and hands out beer and wine for the adults. It's usually (not this year for me cuz I'm sick) our fave place!

Those costumes were awesome! You are so cute! Love the purple hair. Your goth boy was great!

We didn't make out too well on loot either, but I guess my scale is thankful. LOL

I hope your ear infection clears up soon. The thing about your ear bothering you is that it is a constant feeling...not like a

Thanks Wendy, thanks Morninglight. Yes, it is a constant, which is unsettling and annoying! Happy November to you all!

I love the pics! Especially Howard Stern. It really looks like him!

And my daugher got a pop-corn ball, took one bite and promptly dropped it on the ground before I could catch it cause "she didn't like it". Damnit.
