HOW TO EAT A CUPCAKE by Meg Donohue

A winner has been selected for this book. Check here: Winner Announcement!

Hey everyone! I'm trying to get better at posting books because I've got a LOT to offer this spring, but I would LOVE it if you could share my blog with your bookie friends as well! Don't think of it as "If I share MaNiC's blog with my friends, that's less chances for me to win!" Think of it as GOOD KARMA and your chances to win will double! I'd love it if you could pass along my URL to your book lovin' friends in your life, at work, on Facebook, anywhere! And I promise I have so many great books coming your way ... Like this YUMMY debut ...

Who doesn’t LOVE cupcakes? Yeah, thought so, and with a book titled How to Eat a Cupcake, well, that just begs to be read, right? My only problem when I first picked up Meg Donohue’s debut novel was that it wasn’t a scratch ‘n’ sniff book! THAT would really be the ICING on the cake! Ha, I’m on a roll here, aren’t I?

Free-spirited Annie Quintana and sophisticated Julia St. Clair come from two different worlds. Yet, as the daughter of the St. Clair’s housekeeper, Annie grew up in Julia’s San Francisco mansion and they forged a bond that only two little girls oblivious to class differences could—until a life-altering betrayal destroyed their friendship.

A decade later, Annie bakes to fill the void left in her heart by her mother’s death and a painful secret jeopardizes Julia's engagement to the man she loves. A chance reunion prompts the unlikely duo to open a cupcakery, but when a mysterious saboteur opens old wounds, they must finally face the truth about their past or risk losing everything.

You can begin your culinary delight by diving into this excerpt here!

If you’re now craving cupcakes like I am, here’s an exclusive cupcake recipe for the readers and fans of How to Eat a Cupcake: MEYER LEMON CUPCAKES by San Francisco pastry chef Alyce Shields.
And if you’d like to win a copy of How to Eat a Cupcake tell me what your favorite flavor cupcake is! I probably would choose a lemon with cream cheese frosting or red velvet cupcake. And if you ask me HOW to eat a cupcake, I would say IN THE CLOSET SO I WOULDN’T HAVE TO SHARE WITH ANYONE!!

Remember, MaNiC MoMMy is aiming to feature great books each and every week this year, and you’ll have a chance to win it as well! Please stop by often AND MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE PREVIOUS POSTS as I’m now posting new books more than once a week! Open to US/Canada residents only, and thanks to all the participating authors and publicists for providing the books.

Check back on this post in a few days to see if you’ve been chosen, and as long as there is not a highlighted winner’s name on the top of the blog post, you may enter to win any of the previous books being offered. One entry per person as always! Please include an email address or a uniquely identifying user name when entering to win!

Only one?!!?

I guess it would have to be the Baba Booey from Crumbs Bake Shop. It's a chocolate cupcake filled with peanut butter frosting, topped with peanut butter and chocolate cream cheese frosting and rimmed with peanut butter chips. So insanely good.

There is also a local cupcakery that occasionally has a Caramel Macchiato cupcake. OMG!

'How to Eat a Cupcake' has mystery, humor, wit, surprises, sorrow, regret, anger and just about every emotion that you can imagine. At the first, I felt that Anna was just a little too bubbly but she grew on me and so did Julia. I was sad that the book ended.
