Cut

I got my hair chopped yesterday. Totally short. Some people referred to it as "sassy." It's short. I hated the bulk of it, of having to pull it up into a rubberband at night so I wouldn't get a mouthful of hair when I slept. I hated putting it up in a stupid hairband to keep it out of my face. It just bugged me. And it wasn't long by any means, just long for me. I think I've always had medium-length hair, except when I met Hubby. It was this short then. I hated that it took me like 15 minutes to dry it and use a roller brush, not that 15 minutes is a long time, but I'm all about the quickness. Now I'm guessing it'll take me like four minutes to dry and style it. I love that. My cutter girl, stylist, whatever you call the girl who cuts hair, always laughs at me because usually I get my hair done on a weeknight and I tell her, "You don't need to put a bunch of stuff in it or style it too fancy. I'm just going home and going to bed after this." She laughs, but I think it secretly bums her out that she only gets to do half the stuff of a hair-do. And not the fun stuff. Not the spray-a-bunch-of-'product'-into-hair-and-fluff-it-up fun things.

Yesterday, I told her, "Go crazy with the 'product!' Style it up! I am going out tonight so it has to look good!" So she did, and it looked nice, and when I got home, Hubby liked it and said, "Oh, it's going to be like being with a whole new woman!"

So, sassy new Manic with a new hair-do. Easy. That's what I'm about. The simple things. One time I told Hubby that I wanted something more out of life, that my goal was to "Simplify and Enrich." I think I've started with the hair.

So, this a.m., I'm sitting at the computer, and Ajers comes in to greet me good morning, and he plants the sweetest kiss on my cheek. I can smell his stinky didn't-brush-my-teeth-yet breath, and am thinking, Oh, what a sweet kid I have. What a nice way to start my morning. Oh, how much I love him!

Then, he says, "I don't like your hair like that." And walks away.

I don't know who cried harder, my 7 year old son, or my husband the first time I got my hair cut short. Actually it was me the day after...

.....and he comes out of left field with a quick punch to the gut....I'm sure it looks great, and it sounds like you feel great about it too. I'm jealous...every time I go to the stylist they shake their head like someone died and say "I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do..."

That story just made me laugh...

I always tell my stylist to skip the fancy stylings b/c I'm just going home and going to bed too, but he never will. I guess he wants me to look so good that I will keep coming back for more, which I do.

That is pretty funny! I did this about a year ago now. I had short hair in hs which was like what, 15+ years ago? So I thought, why not! Yeah, I put on a little wt. since then... only about 50 lbs or so (which I needed since I wt about 105 at 5'7"), and evidently most of it was in my face. So I found out a short chic hairstyle, it makes your face look rounder. It was lovely, I felt like that fat girl in your hs PE class for a couple of months until it finally grew out! The hubby took one look at me and said, "um, if you are happy with it that is all that matters!" In other words- "it sucks!" LMAO Sorry... I just had to share, it was tramatic! LOL

Thanks for stopping by my blog btw!

My hair dresser loves to put that junk in my hair and all it does it make it more flat. I keep telling her "no product" but I don't think she really gets that I actually don't want it. It's like they must fuss with your hair or they'll die.

Love Ajers and his comments!

Oh, yeah, that's a kid for you. I have to see pictures!!!!

I had about 4 inches cut off my own hair and more layers added in to reduce the bulk. If one more person tells me I look sophisticated, I'll scream.

Just say old, people.

That is too classic! Leave it to men to be toooooooo honest! I also piss off my stylist b/c I just go for the cut, highlight, perm, or whatever but never let them style it. I also look ridiculous and I figure why waste their time when I'm just going to run out to the car and put a hat on. :)

Post a pic of your sexy "do" so we can see! I'll bet you look great!

I went for a bang trim about 3 years ago, and while I was waiting, I read a magazine article about Meg Ryan (there was a pic of her). I sat down, and I told the stylist to cut off my 16 inches of straight, silky, long, waist- length hair into a 2-inch pixie cut like Meg's. She wasn't so sure about doing it, but I convinced her.

I heard the scissors at the back of my neck chopping it off in 1 long pony, and felt ill. I waited until she was done to look in the mirror. She did exactly what I asked. I felt SO great! So cute...it was so fun in the Bahamas!

My oldest son cried when he saw me. My husband called it sexy (although I know he was lying) and my bestest girlfriend said I looked like a boy.

It was ever so easy...Been growing it out ever since...now it is long again and I put it in a pony every day, but this is not about me.

YOU GO GIRL!

Ugh. I am not sharing a photo of my hair. I tried to take a picture of it, and when I looked at the picture, I was like, "Oh, this haircut sux."

WTF did I do!?!?
