But life is getting in the way of Blogging. It happens sometimes, huh? Nothing bad, really, just busy being a mom, raising three kids, and trying to clean out the freaking closets!
Here's one for the books. I went grocery shopping today, and we all know I can't cook. I don't know what the freak I bought, but I spent 342 freaking dollars. No liquor, hardly any meat, no toiletries... I was, and am, mortified, especially now that I'm going to have to magically create meals from that absurd amount of God-knows-what-the-heck-I-bought.
Hope everyone is well! Be back soon... Maybe I'll have recipes to share.

You do know that they let look at the stuff before you buy it, don't you? You don't just have to take what they give you.
Remember that next time and you'll do much better.
Just doing my part to help out.
LOL at drew's comment!! It's sooo easy to spend that kind of money at the grocery store!! Did you use coupons? We dont have them here and my husband used to be coupon king when we lived in he USA ... ahh how he misses his coupons!!
Happy cooking ....
Manic, at least you are feeding 5 people. I can spend $175 and I am feeding - uh - One. (Note: that does last me at least 3 weeks so that's not too bad is it?)
I've always wondered how the money adds up like that. I never feel like I have anything in the cart.
i hope you got ice cream...
Drew--
Maybe you should do Manic's shopping (or mine) for a week, and see if you still feel the same then! I have three boys (two are teens) and the bill is always that high! That's the way it goes, no matter how careful you may be...
No ice cream.
I hear that if you line a dish with four Snickers bars then cover it with greenbeans and bake it at 375 for an hour, it counts as dinner and your family has to eat it. But that might just be a rumour...
Can we skip the green beans? I remembered to buy the Snickers, but forgot the veggies!
People have become multimillionares solely thru clipping coupons
I'm desperate for some new dinner ideas. Post 'em when you have them!
If I had to provide for a wife and kids, there'd be a freezer (with backup generator) in the garage, and we'd be buying as much food as possible from a big portions store like Costco or Sam's Club. Hmm, come to think of it, that's where I get most of my dogs' food from now.
Hello there! Came here via Blind Beth. Ya know, I went shopping last Friday and spent $345 at Wal-Mart. I have no idea where that stuff goes. I get home, put it away, look around and think, "Where in the hell did the food just go?" I think the pantry sucks it away while I'm putting food in the fridge. I can't think of any other sane reason, can you?
Oh dear Manic Mom... I feel your pain. Just two bags from the Whole Grocer and the bill is over 100. It's a crime I tell you! A crime.
Who said you could have a life that didn't include us? Yeesh.
