R-E-L-I-E-F

I can't tell you the amount of relief I have knowing I don't have to do a Minute With Manic tonight. Thank you all for being so kind and understanding! Now, I'm going to curl up with Diva and let her read me a book titled: I DON'T LIKE TO READ. Then we are going to watch Elf. Then I'm going to say a silent little prayer thanking the higher-up for the seven-mile walk I took with a friend around her lake yesterday, the family time we had, the awesome meal, and the three appletinis (and the fact that my head wasn't pounding too terribly this morning).

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Now, it's time to get ready for some important stuff... I need to order a turkey breast and figure out how I'm going to pull of a Thanksgiving meal!

Peace UP!

Here are my 2 favorite recipes for a perfect Thanksgiving dinner.

1. Call restaurant or good store near you that makes them. Pick up the night before. Put all foods into your own dishes. Throw some flour randomly around the kitchen and sprinkle crumbs. Fill sink with dishes, pots and pans - clean or dirty they'll never know. Serve dinner and enjoy compliments.

2. Get invited to home of friend who is a really good cook and volunteer to bring a pie. Stop at favorite bakery and purchase pie in one of those tin thingies. At home, carefully pull tin thingie off pie while sliding it into beautiful and expensive pie dish you keep for these occasions. Go to friends house and enjoy.

If you don't like these, I have lots more.

My favorite Elf quote--he's saying this to Santa: "You sit on a throne of lies."

Sounds like you had a fun weekend. I would love a 7 mile lake walk and a good meal!

Glad your feeling a little more rested.

I'm also glad to know I'm not the only one a little freaked about Thanksgiving.

I did buy the turkey...now I just have to figure out the stuffing!!

I came up with the perfect solution to Thanksgiving a few years ago. I volunteer to work my regular shift (3pm-11pm, for double pay) on that day. Then, we go over to my in-law's, eat around 1pm, then I say "Thanks so much for the lovely meal, I wish I could stay longer but I have to go to work."
Then I leave, and my husband and my kids stay there. It works out perfectly (for me.)

disclaimer: I am an employee there and they made me read it.

Bob Evans has a whole thanksgiving meal in a box. Its called a Farm House feast. It has everything Turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, rolls, banana bread, and pumpkin pie --all pre-cooked. You're only job is to warm it up.
