This Just In

Well, my mom had outpatient knee surgery on July 1 and apparently she's feeling a little slighted because there is no mention of her and her recovery on this here blog! I might add that I also didn't mention on this here blog that I took Tukey to the ER last week, because, well, and I learned this from my mom, some family things are just private. But, in case you want to know, Ajers and I also went to the eye doctor today for an annual exam. I did get new contacts. I am not due for a pap or a boob squish till next May, so we're set there. All is good in that department. We, as a Manic spousal team, may consider the option of a vasectomy in the fall, although I love what my good friend Sharon did when the time came. She researched insurance and discovered it was cheaper for her to get a tubal than her husband to get a V, so instead of her hubby laying on the couch for a full weekend, she got the procedure done and she stayed on the couch for the weekend. Smart gal!

Obviously, I don't share everything on the blog, but, I think Mom is feeling very close to you readers these days and wants to feel the love from all of you, so please, so you know, my mother is fine, she recovered from her knee surgery very nicely. My father is also doing well. And Tukey's visit to the ER was non-emergent.

Feel free to leave comments wishing anyone get well wishes or your thoughts or condolences, and make sure to send some special love my mom's way. I just hope she didn't really get her wisdom teeth pulled, like she told us she did when she had her last surgery, however, THAT is definitely NOT a post for this blog!

LYMI! and yes, Mom, I will KMBFY!

Hahahahahah!

Aww sweet, poor mom feeling insignificant! You have to do better than that! At least your mom reads your blog.

Hope your knee is feeling better Manic Grandma. That's the right term for a manic mommy's mommy right?

Sending happy vibes from the Highlands to Manic Granny!!

I have VERY creaky knees (due to growing too fast when I was a kid) so empathize entirely. Rest it, get spoilt and then rest it again just to make sure.

PS I have absolutely no idea what those letters at the end of your post mean, but my science brain got the 143 right away

Ok, for all of you....this is Manic's sibling sis and our mom is definately not a "Grandma" or "Granny," not that we take offense to those names (we have our very own "Little Granny" and my kids have a "Grandma," however, our mom is NANA, very cool, young at heart and fun! The term "Grandma" or "Granny" just doesn't fit! We had a NANA too, she rocked and was the coolest ever and I miss her and think of her often, but our mom, NANA #2 is carrying on the legacy of her mom and I hope to do the same some day and become a NANA! NANA's ROCK!

I was coming over to say it's not Grandma Manic but Nana Manic or Manic Nana, or whatever and see my sis beat me to it already!

And ooh, Mom, did you see Greg's post--I might have to go over there and tell him all about our "issues" for his next book!

LYMI!

Hi Manic Mom's Mom! Glad to hear you're doing great after your surgery :)

And Manic, you crack me up with your update on when various procedures are likely to be needed in your house!!! I'm not quite so organized...I think my dog gets her shots sometime in the Spring, but other than that...

Hi Manic Nana!
I have had a couple of knee surgeries in my time too. Hope you hubby is taking care of you! Maybe you should make Manic fly down and take care of you! We love Manic and her blog, by the way!

You know I was due for my pap and boob smash in May...2006. At least that is what the reminder card on the side of my fridge states. And I know as a gal who had cancerous cells froze from her cervix in 1992 I totally know the importance of a annual check-up. It's just...it's just...I've not been in the mood for spreading leg.

Oh, wishes for speedy recovery to all!

Manic, I'm glad you slowed down long enough for me to come say "hello." I've been trying! LOL I feel close to your mom (and many of your commentors). I'm not a grandma or such either through 3 grands, and 4 great-grands. Mammaw has been the recurring name.

Steph,
So glad to hear your Mom is doing well after the surgery. Old Ralphie had a knee replacement a couple of years ago so he can offer some advice if needed- No camel toe discussions though. I don't think his heart could handle that again!!
