Quote of the Week

I'm walking upstairs, once again avoiding the two baskets full of unfolded laundry in the living room. I yell to Hubby, "Hey, why don't you make yourself useful and fold this laundry!"

His witty reply:
"I don't want to take away your job security!"

to which you should have replied: "Do you REALLY want to go through the trouble of replacing me?"

Ouch, that hurts, doesn't it? But it raises an excellent question. WHY do the hubbies never think of this?

Stopping by to say hello. Hello.

LOL, I love Drew's response. My husband must be allergic to laundry... about the only thing he will willingly do is transfer a load from the washer to the dryer.

Love Drew's comment! See, the funny thing here is I DO know my place in the house. Hubby does so much, and you're hearing this here first folks, I am kinda a slacker... shhhhhh. The laundry is 98% my job. He, however, does about 30% of it without even being asked just cuz I leave it out and it bugs the hell out of him to see it out!

So, I was making the original joke by telling him to fold it!

BTW, it's stiiiiiillll sitting there, unfolded! And more dirty stuff is piling up!

My husbands idea of doing the laundry is adding soap and turning on the washer. And finishing the laundry consists of turning the dryer on until the clothes he wants to wear are wrinkle free and dry.
that's it.

OMG .. that is soo something Mr. Farmer would say - or even one of the brood for that matter. Y'all are quick at Manic's house!

Manic, we are soooooo much alike. For the first two years of our marriage, he worked, cooked, cleaned, did laundry, etc. I went to college all day, waitressed all night, and did nothing else. After I graduated, took on some of the duties, but not much. Then had baby number one, no longer worked or went to school, and still didn't do much. He finally asked, "Honey, you ever gonna cook?" Well, now I do it all, but not very well. And I still slack on a lot of things, which he finally does cuz he can't stand it anymore. He only complains a little, and I just tell him, "After 4 kids and 18 years of marriage, I don't think you married me for my cooking."

Love drew's response as well. I didn't do my husbands laundry for a week, and considering he wears 2 or 3 outfits a day, it piles up. He even said, "So, I noticed you didn't do any of MY laundry with the rest." Well, I finally did this weekend. All four loads of it. He knew I'd get tired of looking at it!
